Smirre by Valesco Smirre by Valesco
this is a very quickly drawn portrait of my beloved smirre. in may he will be one year old, so to speak he is our baby looking at my 8-year-old mare. :) he is a trakehner, his father is kaiserkult, his mother scarlet o' hara who descends from herzruf and many more important lines :D. kaiserkult is a son of van dyke and participating the trakehner sports horses promotion programme. i am really looking forward to seeing him matured, for he seems to become a very strong backhanded dressage horse. the ideal one for me since i have a passion for dressage !

coming to the drawing technique i gotta mourn that i still have problems with the outlook of the substances....maybe i should try using a harder pencil....

Hm,looks like this was done quite a while ago, but it still caught my eye ;) Very nice, you did a great job on the shading and tones, especially on the neck :D I think you could work on the texture of the mane a bit, but awesome work none the less. You're so lucky you get to work with horses :)
