i am quite fascinated by digitally painted landscapes, especially by those which look so nicely from a certain distance but are composed of really simple brush streaks! i tried to do such one here, and i think i did not quite succeed :( i gotta practice more, especially since i got probs with backgrounds, i think i can improve here also...
please look remotely, avoid full view, lest the atmosphere gets lost...

i'd be really glad to receive some advices by those who know what to make better!
thx!

enjoy :)

You know, I always wanted to try something like that too, it's incredible how some messy brushes streaks can do such a great effect looking at the whole picture remotely as you said :) And watching this picture I think you perfectly used this technique and you created the right feeling, in my opinion ^^ I especially like the borders with the trees branches... maybe they could be a little more thin, so that they seem even more detailed, and the horizon line is maybe a bit plain and simple but it's just a little detail ^^ I don't think you need suggestions for now, especially if this is one of your first tries: it's a very good start. Take the time to notice by yourself what you could improve or what you don't like; keep practicing and you will see that you will correct some details by yourself at the beginning, then if you want to perfect your skills you may need the advices of an expert in this kind of works :) Which is not me ^^; So I cannot do more than that but I hope it helped you a little ;)

By the way, great job! ^^

I love stuff like that too, where up close the brush strokes are actually kind of messy and simple. And when I saw this, I automatically thought of that kind of thing even before I read the description!

So although practice is always great, I think this was already a success :iconilikeitplz:

I really like this, the colours are great and the technique you used to make it works well with the atmosphere :)

thanks for the comment. so you think i do not need to get away from the sketchy style in favor of clear structures?
