i got an DD !!!! what an awesome Christmas present !
i´m in my second year at deviantart.It has been like an small revolution.like an catapult that projected me and my work out in the world.I learned so much and met so many people- worked together with them and gained friends.i passed the tenthousand-views mark and I did commissions and even sold a print!
Its difficult to put in words what deviantart did to me- but it is an very positive thing on professional and personal levels.man... i dont want to get emotive...but its really true!
this daily deviation happening at the end of the year is so rewarding - all the feedback and comments...

i´m overwhelmed by the quantity of feedback and favorites coming in the last time !!! This is really rewarding for me and i´m very happy that my work is being credited by so many people.i want to thank everyone for faving my images personally but its near to impossible- i tried to do some quick copy paste of an thank you message but i feel bad to just copy paste and the system already thinks i´m a spammer...i´ll always try to respond to every comment i get but all these favorites are just impossible to respond-  so the best i can do is to thank everybody who is faving my deviations here and now :

I´m now one year part of this amazing community and i have to say that it was one fabulous year!I think in this one year i grew much more as an artist than in many years before. finally i found an place for my art and i got to thank all of you awesome people for helping me to learn and for giving me so much feedback !!!
many hours i spent in front of the computer - painting and typing messages and all that- and i dont want to miss one minute of it!
To celebrate all this i just opened up an second gallery which is all about my work as an street-painter here in lisbon...  i´m still building it up but there are already  some drawings to view - check it out !

...long time ago,i spent a very good time amongst friends doing comics for fun.We would just pass the paper around and do the "story" together.each crazy panel was followed by an even more crazy panel and so on.That where good times and we did some great comic-strips like this.Our comics where alot about "language" and "contemporarity".no internet.fotocopied-fanzines where the only way to have them "published".
I would say that our comics where even restricted to a certain kind of "slang" language just used by us and friends.
that was around 25 years ago.We even made an huge compilation of our best storys in an self-edited album called "zakfoz".limited edition .100 exemplars.around sixty pages...
If i read that storys now,our "territorial-slang-language-jokes" from back then seem still so fresh and funny... at least for me.
That is really my "artistic"root.My original clan.
-my basis in drawing and "storytelling".
when i do an illustration nowadays, i  try to remember that easy feeling.When i ink an pencil sketch i always try to "relax" and put some fun and "slang" in the lines.
Drawing is not my hobby since many years- its my job. anyway i think its good to remind my roots:doing comics with and for my friends!I guess your best art is made just for your best friends.nobody else.
