Effectively could be defined in many ways, but for me the most fitting is the definition given by the Youtube user Palladium Wings, that wrote: Vaporwave, the sound of the shining optimism that faded through time It is better, however, to proceed in order, starting from the origins. The Vaporwave, first of all, it does not have a well-defined place of origin unlike the more classic currents, but born stateless on Internet around the 2010 under the guise of electronic musical genre with a strongly experimental imprint. It takes musical samples (like smooth jazz, R&B,lounge) reinterpreting and distorting them through sampling techniques. The result is a sound that often recalls the '80s and '90s, thanks also to low-fi and fake vintage audio filters, causing to the listeners a sense of nostalgia for a time that, paradoxically, may never have lived.
