The Ruins of Eos
"The Ruins of Eos" shows the remains of a once proud and ornate city which stood high on a cliff overlooking a vast alien ocean.  Here the original inhabitants could look out and enjoy magnificent views of their neighboring world and yet stay well above the mammoth tides it creates on this watery moon.  The builders of this city are long gone now and their great stone city is slowly falling into decay, but this place still leaves such a sense of awe and wonderment in visitors.  Who were they that built this place?  Why did they abandon their city?  In Greek mythology, "Eos" was an original Titaness and the goddess of the dawn, who rose each morning from her home at the edge of Oceanus.  I thought this name was rather appropriate for this image.  To compose this scene, I combined elements created in DAZ Studio, Vue, and Photoshop.  If you like this image, leave a comment and tell me what you think!

The Final Evening
My new work "The Final Evening" illustrates the last pleasant sunset on Earth at the end of the Cretaceous period before everything changed on this planet.  A lone dinosaur sensing something is not quite right, sticks her head out of the vegetation to gaze out over the open water and at a comet that appears unusually large in the sky.  Little does she realize that she has only hours to live.  Impact of the 8 mile-wide object occurred in a shallow sea off what is now Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.  The impact left a crater at least 100 miles in diameter and 12 miles in depth.  In the end, 75% of all plants and animals would become extinct.

I used Vue to render the landscape for this image and DAZ Studio for the dinosaur.  After rendering out the scene, I used Photoshop to add in the comet.  Despite having a very moody atmosphere, I think the scenes colors are actually rather appropriate for the events about to take place...

Pilgrimage Close-Up
I like this portion of my recent image Pilgrimage, (see the whole scene here:  fav.me/dcq0i0a ) so I wanted to post it as a separate image without the overhead planet.  This was done entirely in Vue.  The character was made in Daz then imported into the Vue landscape for the final render.

Pilgrimage
Decided to try another Earth-like scene and go for more realism in my landscape.  I kept tweaking until I was happy with the morphology of the monolithic stones and ground-cover.  I'm particularly pleased with how the campfire turned out.  I originally thought it would be difficult to do, but it actually turned out to be one of the easier elements of the scene.

Here I'm illustrating a lone female traveler who has decided to come to this ancient set of standing stones.  She has traveled far from home on her pilgrimage to this location as she seeks from her ancestors something important.  As the sun sets and the landscape becomes illuminated by the nearby gas-giant, this traveler will experience a communion with the natural environment and the ancient people who erected these stones unlike anything she has felt before.

I used Vue to render the landscape for this image, Daz to generate the female character, and Photoshop to add in the planet and moon.  I hope you enjoy the image.  If you have any thoughts, please feel free to make comments.
