Watercolours of Japan by Usagisama Watercolours of Japan by Usagisama
This is a sampling of some of the better paintings I did in my summer in Japan. God I miss those times...

•Left: A temple structure housing a GIANT bell. Painted from the veranda of the main hall at Miyoshinji.

•Top Right: A view of the tea house at Daishin-in, a temple in the larger Miyoshinji complex.

•Bottom two images: Both were painted around the large pond at Joruriji. A temple known for its main hall with a bunch of buddha figures in a row... can't remember how many or why it was so significant. However, I do remember getting eaten alive by mosquitos while painting those images!!!

Anyway, I hope ya'll enjoy the my paintings... though these places were far more beautiful in person, my paintings do them little justice.

A lofty ambition, but with hard work and dedication, anything can be achieved... well, with in the limits of physical possibility... I don't think hard work and dedication could make, say, a planet vanish or something... anyway, you get the point! Try your hardest!! It can happen!

Oh, I was just referring to the difficulty of getting a character into Super Smash Bros... but that its certainly not impossible if you try hard enough :) That's what I was trying to get at with my rambling writing! :XD: Sorry, I hardly understand my own words most of the time!! :faint:

Watercolors are really hard to get right, in my opinion, but you did a really excellent job. You caught a lot of the peaceful feel of Japanese temples.
Where did you go in Japan?

The Miyoshinji images are from a temple complex in Kyoto, while the Joruriji images are from a temple roughly half way between Kyoto and Koyasan. However, I did travel around Japan, especially later in the program after the class part was finished.

The list goes: Kyoto, Koyasan, Nara, Nagoya, Ise, Fujisan, Tokyo, Takayama, Hiroshima, and Totori. Some of those places I only was there a day or two. Kyoto was by far the longest, with 5 weeks spent there. I miss japan soooooooooooooooooooo much!

I was in Osaka. I was surprised that you didn't go there.
What were you in Japan for?

Oops, I forgot to mention Osaka! :XD: However I went there only for part of a day to See Tadao Ando's "Church of Light".

I was there for a Landscape Architecture studio course. It allowed me to get some of my required architecture studio credits while also getting to see Japan. When I was there I got to visit many gardens, temples, and buildings as part of the study for my class.
