I'm not gonna go into too much detail because the story about how I became the co-owner of a creative business called Drawn and Plastered because I've timed it, it takes two hours to tell haha. Basically, while working at a comic book store I became close friends with one of my co-workers, Holly Halftone
who happened to be owner of super cool creative business called Drawn and Plastered.
What is Drawn and Plastered?
Drawn and Plastered is a live model art event. If you are an artist you should be familiar with drawing live nude models, well its based on that concept, only the models are clothed in themes, there always some kind of entertainment (band, burlesque, etc.) and sometimes theatrics. We allow all types of creative mediums, photographers, sketch artists, sculptors, and anything else you can possibly think of. Our goal is to bring artists together and inspire them.
Where do these events happen?
They happen at bars here in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, we have a semi regular venue, The Hub at the U of M, but we do use other local venues depending on our theme.
What kind of themes does D&P have?
All kinds of themes, we like to brainstorm many possible and varied themes. Recent themes have been 7 deadly sins, Mists of Avalon, 1920's Speakeasy Murder Mystery, and Ancient Greece.
Does D&P travel to other places?
As much as we would like to travel more we are like most, starving artists, we do however frequent Fan Expo in Toronto, and we hope to return this year.
