Warhamster 40K: Black Templar

I made a Warhamster 40K crack over the weekend and thought it was a totally obvious joke. Then I went online and discovered that yes, yes it was, but I figured what the hell, I'd illustrate it anyway. (As my friend Kit says, "It may have been done before, but YOU haven't done it yet!")

My boyfriend's a Warhammer 40K nerd, and kindly loaned me his books on painting space marines so that I could get some approximation of the armor right. (And by loaned I mean "flung at me with disturbing enthusiasm.")

Original is 8 x 10 or thereabouts, mixed media--I have no idea how people paint those little fiddly miniatures, so this is as close as I'm gonna get.
