Raccoon Thief
By ursulav
Got a PS2, about a thousand years behind the rest of the industrialized world, and have been amusing myself by working my way through the backlog of classics I never played. Naturally, given my affection for cute animals, "Sly Cooper" was bound to show up.
Cute games. Some great character designs throughout. But I was mildly miffed by the design of the main character, who is supposed to be a raccoon and is instead a grey fox with a paint job. I wouldn't pick nits about it if it were just inaccurate, but it has the Generic Furry Character thing goin' on.
Having thus complained, I am required by law to put my stylus where my mouth is and do at least a doodle of a raccoon thief that looks somewhat like a raccoon. And character design is a tricky business, and not one of my strong points, so I certainly can't say it's better, (you don't see ME selling hundreds of thousands of copies of anything to gamers, after all!) and I suspect the more conventional furries are much easier to animate, with the true bipedalism and whatnot, but I feel better for having doodled, anyway.
Plus, crowbar. Every master thief needs a crowbar. And a grappling gun, if they can get it.

I think it's a pretty good improvement on Sly's design. It always bugs me that he looks even more like a fox than Ms. Fox. I recently got hooked on the Thevious Racoonus myself. I plan to get Sly2 once I finish the first one. Which will probably be sometime today.
Oh, and since you like cutesy animals and stuff, you might like Kingdom Hearts. Might. Some of the Heartless are adorable. KH is one of my personal favs.

Oh and I forgot Ecco: Defender of the Future. The story is odd, and the narration cheezy, but the movement of the character is pretty darn realistic. I had a blast just swimming around the intro level for an hour or two. It was kind of relaxing, and the music was very soothing. I'd recommend renting rather than buying, but it's worth at least trying IMO.
Haha, hey, that's what I'm doing right now. XD I just got a ps2 for christmas the year before last (which is late considering 95% of my friends are total gamer junkies. XD) and I still haven't beaten a single rpg of any kind. O.o Final Fantasy 7, 8, 10, Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet and Clank, Max Payne 2 and Devil May Cry (both borrowed from one of said junkies) . . . >.> Yeah, I'm a bit behind.
