Klimt's Rooster

I like roosters. And I had all this board in neat sizes--this is 6 x 18--and a desire to fool with a vertical composition and some stylization ala Gustav Klimt, and...well...there we are. (I kinda want to do another one. Or another kind of bird. Or something. There's something oddly soothing about stylized portraiture with all that metallic schtuff.)

It's a more impressive piece in person because I went wacky with the metallic inks and the gold leaf on the background, which never scans all that well. *sigh* Gold leaf is wonderful stuff, there's nothing quite like it, but it gets in EVERYTHING. It took me three minutes to leaf the piece, and I'll be pulling gold leaf out of my food and off the cat for the next six months.
