Dog In Frog Pond Journal

These pages are assembled in Photoshop from doodles done on the iPad with Procreate, using the fonts LittleBird, Sweet Home Oklahoma, and Rose Tattoo. The note on the side is the date in the long-defunct Jacobin Calendar, which I love for the imagery.

Your mystery caterpillar almost looks like a tomato worm.  I can't tell if he has a hook on his butt though.

Well, as the saying goes... " If you want to be happy for life..."

I would guess some sort of Peridea sp. for the caterpillar.

I'm really enjoying these. Also, I'm afraid my first thought on not knowing what the variety of caterpillar was, was to have Data's quote to Scotty float through my head. "It is... green, sir." Not remotely helpful, but it's a handsome whatever-it-is.

*edited to maybe be less of an English fail*

I think my coffee isn't working.

Sadly my game of "What Caterpillar?" has come to nought. I can't find anything with those black stripes on the face.

i am probably wrong but i would say a Luna Moth.  size and overall color lean that way.

"This is my DOG pond now. The frogs can find their own pond!"

Better a hound in the frog pond than a Standing Stone, I suppose.

You gotta watch for those stones, man. They take over the interns.

I know what you mean, I recently moved from West Palm beach to the tiny central town of Bartow Florida on property that is reclaimed from phosphate mines, so the ground is super rich!  For the first time in my life I was able to dig and plant a huge garden plot- 3 breeds of blueberries, 2 raspberries, 2 blackberries, 2 varieties of tomato, strawberries, brocoli, spinach, cucumber, catnip, basil, peppermint, sunflowers, small watermelon, and summer squash.  I also am busy taming an area where they let lady finger bananas go wild, we're talking 30 standing plants in a plot the size of a typical garden shed, culling them back to 10 ish so they have a chance to thrive and ripen.  It's quite an adventure and even though i come inside gross and sweaty it feels like good hard work after I spend so many hours inside making art dolls watching netflix lol =)  Oooh that frog pond, that's next on my agenda lol!  =)
