Cattail Tea

So I started a painting and it looked absolutely nothing like this and I got it roughed out and laid down some color and said "This is not right."

So I started another painting that had some elements of this, but also a bunch of rocks and other crap, and it was utterly and totally wrong and I painted rocks for three hours and said "This is not right and also I hate it and also I am a terrible artist and this is horrible and awful and I am going to go become a warthog farmer and never paint again."

So then I did this painting and said "Right. Okay. That was it. Whew. What was I thinking with that other thing, anyway?" and canceled the shipment of warthogs and all was right with the world.

There has got to be an easier way to get a painting right, but I have yet to find it.

Digital, Painter 7, prints available for $10 and $20 plus shipping--send a note or visit Red Wombat Studio at [link]

Would love to do a water feature of this in my garden

You know since I started watching all the internet personalities about a year and a half ago, I have come to be surprised at the number of really famous, really talented, really awesome people who think they are shit. After the first few months of hearing them talk about themselves I began to wonder if a single author, actor, singer, or artist liked themselves.

I saw this and then had to ask myself, "why in the hell am I not watching this person?" so I fixed that little oversight. ;)

I have never in my entire life considered that teacups might be as awesome as this ...

As an avid consumer of Earl Grey, and a fan of the pleasantly absurd, this piece of work stands out as rather nice. That said, I hear that warthogs are better painted than owned anyway.

In case I never said anything on this, this is fascinating and adorable.

I love how you painted this! The stillness of the water and the atmosphere really brought me in.
