An absolutely MONSTER commission from the stellar team of artist LUIS RIVERA and colorist PEPITO SIOC, featuring STEEL WOLF in battle against his former teammates in THE RED GUARD! The Red Guard are Russia's foremost band of superhuman champions. And while they're pledged to defend the Rodina from any and all threats, which includes a former member who defected to one of their nation's adversaries! And while Steel Wolf has attempted to explain his choice, they've never forgiven what they perceive to be his betrayal.

The members of the Red Guard (clockwise from bottom left) are: TRANSIT, FORCE (being held by STEEL WOLF), REGALITH, POWERHOUSE, COLDSNAP, ARCWYND, THERMAL, MENTAX, FEDERAL TITAN, MiG-3, and MAMMOTH.

When I had originally approached Luis about doing this, I only intended maybe five members of the Guard to be pictured. I sent Luis the full team profiles, and told him to pick the ones he thought would be the most visually interesting to use. Turns out, he wanted a challenge and picked the WHOLE TEAM! And then sent this thing off to Pepito, who put his usual gorgeous colors on it. These two guys are insane!
