4. Write the name of the character with its owner.

STEEL FOX

1) As should be no surprise, Steel Fox is the Supergirl to Steel Wolf's Superman.

2) Her real-life origin stems back to when my own cousin would be visiting, and want to join in on our Marvel RPG games. She wanted to have a character like mine, and also be his cousin in-game, so this is the result.

3) Her name wasn't originally Steel Fox. When she was first created, Amanda (my cousin) called her "Firebird". That lasted for awhile, but then she decided she wanted to more closely emulate my guy so she changed the name to Steel Fox.

4) I actually like Power Girl much more than Supergirl, so when I redesigned her costume back in '97, I chose to emulate that design and colorscheme. You can see my original drawing of her in this located here...

5) Despite being an obvious Supergirl riff, her origin actually tracks closer to that of the Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel.

6) While Steel Fox started out Russian in our games, I've since changed her to an American relative of Alexi's on his biological father's side. They're still first cousins, just not from the same country. Hence the elimination of any Russian/Soviet symbology from her costume these days.

7) Of all the costumes I've designed over the years, this remains one of my top favorites.

8) Steel Fox has not appeared in any medium or commissions with her cousin. That needs to change. ;-)

When I saw this last night I couldn't believe I hadn't Fav'd it already. And since I was surfing on my phone, if I attempted to comment such as a reply, it would have invariably ended up in someone else's thread tree.

I can't get my head around using the internet on my phone - usually end up deleting things I want to keep and faving things I don't! I know it's old school but I like having my desktop pc - I kind of feel being able to walk away from your computer and not having it with you at all times is probably for the best!

Agreed. I much prefer checking dA on my desktop than on mobile. Oftentimes, I'll see what my notifications are, but wait to do anything about/with them until I sit at my desk.
