acrylic on canvas.

70x90 (27,5x35,4 inch)

this is a parafrase on Rembrant's painting "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp". I'm pretty much content with it. The white safety-suits were a nightmare to paint :D

thank to :icontwistmyflesh: for all the tips and advice!

This is cool and all but what?? I'm wondering what made you think of this in the first place? Otherwise, I love the rendering and idea! :D Pretty surreal and disturbing.

This is disturbing, buy also very well done. Strangely, Tinky Winky's expressionless face is what give me chills. Great work!

Am I the only one who finds the comment "this ruins my childhood" kinda rude to the artist??

Idk it just seems to unnecessary. This is an amazing piece of art <3 I wish more people commented about that rather then "oh my god rip childhood".

I am in love with this piece, the shadows on the figures and the dynamic action of the dissection of the corpse. It is made even better with the details on the fur of the corpse and the wrinkles on the safety suits.

"Now beginning dissection of specimen number 3, designation TW. As with the previous two, this life form shows signs of intense surgical alteration, the most prominent being what appears akin to a television screen in its abdomen, but further investigation has revealed it to be a thin film covering a pocket of nanomachines that can reorganize into patterns resembling images upon receiving an extraterrestrial signal via the antenna-like extremity on its head. Many of these 'images' resemble scenes involving children. This begs numerous questions, perhaps the most pressing being who created these creatures? From where do they receive these signals? And what do they want with our children? Until the remaining two are captured, it seems we will be no closer to answers."
