Description
Photograph of Saturn taken by Cassini from approximately 2.2 million kilometers using it's Wide Angle Camera, and CL1, RED, BL1, GRN, VIO and RP0 filters.
I tried to approximate actual colors, but there was still a bit of blue haziness around the borders. Not sure why that is, but I think it looks somewhat interesting.
Also, I'm not sure what that object is transiting Saturn. It looks too big to be a ring object, but it does appear to be in the ring system(?). I guess that's what the professionals are for.
Anyway, this was a really fun process for me, and I hope to be doing a few more of these in the coming months. Not just of Saturn and it's moons but of other celestial bodies. I seem to have quite accidentally stumbled into digital astronomy.
