20 year old, self-taught artist trying to get better!
Welcome to my Art Journey.
Half Spanish (Spain), half American.
Saved by Grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We try to fill ourselves with various things in this life whether it be sex, alcohol, drugs, food, our success etc. through the pressure of others or as a way of escape---but you find out it only locks you in a cage.
You become a slave to an object that lies to you and promises freedom when it's the opposite.
Only Jesus can set you free. It's not a bunch of religious dogma. You keep filling yourself up with other things and find out you're still empty because it was never meant to be filled with temporary objects--- but with the Eternal God. YOU made a god of yourself. Are you content yet? It never is enough, is it?
We've all sinned… all of us. Sinned; lied, stolen, lusted/adultery, hate/murder etc. "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).
But he gave us a second chance. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” (John 3:16).
It’s not about how good you are. No. Just because you give to charity, claim to be a Christian, go to church blah blah blah… is NOTHING. That will NOT get you into heaven. In fact God sees your “good works” as filthy menstrual rags, (see Isaiah 64:6) Ouch.
Your sin cannot be “outweighed” by your good. That’s like spraying perfume on a coffin---it’s useless. You think that’s harsh? I would think if God allowed EVERYONE into heaven that would be a cruel and an unjust God. It’s like a murderer going in front of a judge and saying, “Hey… I’m a good person. I washed your car this morning and gave to charity--- why don’t we let this slide?” What if that guy murdered your family? You would be furious that the judge would let him go! An unjust and cruel judge would say sure--- but a just judge would say, “No… you did the crime, you do the time.” If a judge on earth did that, how much more would GOD?
You defend yourself, “I’m not as bad as THAT guy…” but you are in God’s eyes. Sin is sin no matter how big or small—it’s all the same to Him. God is GOD, not limited to a set of “weights and measurements” like we are. Could you imagine Hitler or Stalin killing millions of people and then doing a bunch of charity work to make up for it? Crazy, right? But in your definition of "a good person", he would still go to heaven, because “his intentions and works are good, despite some sin.” You see, our level of righteousness is SO LOW compared to God's, because He is all righteous, no sin, and we are full of sin and pride.
If there’s no God what is morality? How do I know murder or raping someone is bad? How? Is morality only based on the teachings of your parents? Ok, well what if my parents were psychopaths and they think that’s ok; is it? “No”, you say. Well why? Morality is from your parents, my parents say it’s ok then who are you to say it’s not? If you say society makes them—well that’s fine and dandy—Hitler thought it was morally right to, “Destroy the scum of the earth,” and follow Darwin’s “survival of the fittest” theory in creating a super race.
See, we are all sinners. God doesn’t need us. In fact he could have just wiped us off the planet and created people who wouldn’t ever sin and only do his bidding. But that’s not love. That’s force. That’s why God gave us a free will to choose. If he forced us to love Him, we would just be a bunch of puppets. But he loved us so much that He gave us a second chance. All He asks is that we acknowledge we are sinners, we broke His law the ten commandments, and need Him and His offering of salvation. HOW HARD IS THAT?!
An apology? How hard is that? He isn’t asking you to climb Mount Everest to earn his love, as we see so many religions tell us to have a long list of impossible good deeds. See, we’re trying to EARN his love. THAT’S religion. A set of rules… and if you do something bad, that’s fine… just do more charity work to bury the body. Justice is never served. Religion is a tyrant only motivated by selfishness.
Jesus is self-less. He gave up EVERYTHING for you! EVERYTHING. He died and bled on that cross and went to hell in your place despite you constantly turning your back towards Him and spitting in His face, He cried, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do,” (Luke 23:34). Who ever did that for you? So, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts…” (Hebrews 3:15)
Do not become the fool that says, “There is no God.” (See Psalm 14:1)
Do not become the fool who thinks you can live on your own (see Romans 1:25),
Not realizing God holds the very air you breathe in his hands.
“Why doesn’t he just kill me now!?” You scream.
But God says, “’… I have no pleasure in the death of anyone,’ declares the Lord God; ‘so turn, and live.’” (Ezekiel 18:32)
It’s not how good YOU are, but how good HE is. Because there is no one who is good. So only the one who is Holy and all Good can go. But how can we? Only if that one Holy person exchanged places… and He did Jesus Christ. That was a legal transaction--- your debt became His. He rose again and defeated death so we can choose heaven or hell.
Don’t put this off and say,” I’ll think about it,” for all you know today could be your last day. You could die of a heart attack, get crushed by a car, or stabbed in an alley.
What would you say when you face him? “I’m sorry?” It’s too late.
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” (Matthew 7:21-23)
Don’t be that person. Repent and ask Jesus into your heart. Pray right now. Tell Him,
“God, I know I’ve sinned, and I acknowledge I am a sinner in need of you. I’ve tried so many things all my life and never fulfill me. I’m tired of running away. I know Jesus is the son of God and that He alone can save me. Please become the Lord of my life, and help me seek you. In Jesus name Amen.”
Now this prayer isn’t a “1,2,3 pray with me magic spell”, it’s only if you truly believe with all your heart.
It’s like a father telling a child to let go of the monkey bar. The child could say, “Yeah… I believe and trust you.” But it isn’t until he lets go when he truly trusts that his father will catch him.
