Brianne de Chateau (crayons) by Unmei-no-kaioshin Brianne de Chateau (crayons) by Unmei-no-kaioshin
Please, don't use without my permission and/ or credits.

It's been awhile since I posted just a crayon drawing, so I decided to submit a quick one   (took me less than an hour to finish, and a photo required only increasing some gamma level to make the bg whiter. Usually, my photos of drawings are terribly terrible and need /a lot/ of editing) made just yesterday.

Still having trouble with signatures/ watermarks, but since more and more people seem to use my art, putting them is a necessity.

Wow! this was done with crayons? What do artist crayons look like BTW? I assume it isn't crayola. XD

Anyway, I love this fanart. I am one of Brianne's biggest fans! Both her fat and thin self, I don't care. I love her and this is awesome fanart of her

Thanks! I have not much idea on professional crayons, I use cheap ones for kids (not crayola indeed,  this was made with soft Bambino and thick Bic), as I can't afford any expensive brands.

It's editing the photo's contrast and or/ gamma that makes the trick. XD

Goes to show you don't have to buy expensive stuff to have good artwork! Talent and hard work is what is more important in the end

That's the combination I've been using for years (before my drawing hiatus).  It serves well when someone produces lots of art / practices, for you don't have to worry for wasting your supplies. On the other hand, it requires lots of effort to be put in the drawing (sometimes, even more than a digital version of the same piece would).

However, when I see all this great work people can create either digitally, or using some supplies, designed for artists, I feel limited/ stuck  with my "kids crayons." I think that if I want to improve, I should try other ways as well.

Don't think like that. Your art is really great. I've seen a lot of lousy digital art too. It is hard work and earned talent in the end is what makes a great artist not their supplies. Of course, I hope you can get more expensive stuff one day, but even now you make very impressive works.

I actually prefer traditional arts over digital most of the time, so I might be a bit "bias"

Most people appear to prefer digital, even if these are less complicated than their traditional counterparts would have been.

Digital works usually look cleaner than crayon ones, at least they give such an expression. no crayon lines, all surfaces filled with color et cet.
An ordinary viewer doesn't estimate the amount of effort put in the work, just the result.

Maybe they also are preferred  because it's easier to make a digital to resemble an official art, especially when you just can use colors of these. You don't have to mix or to put a few layers, you can just click at the surface with the colour and use it on your draw.

I've noticed that traditional art is not takes seriously (with the exception of something really incredibly made). Fan drawings with simple crayons? You'll be always taking a backseat to any digits maker. I once had lost an job opportunity due to not being able to draw digitally. Even if they complimented my traditional stuff, but still, it was not what they wanted.

To me digital drawings often look TOO perfect. They almost seem kind of artificial like they weren't drawn and just manufactured. I know I'm not probably not making sense here. But a lot of times they don't look/feel like art.

It doesn't seem to have that "character" to it. I actually like the small imperfections and how you can tell it was drawn. To me it shows there was a real person behind it not that digital art doesn't.

I really prefer your traditional art over digital, but that is most art to me. Not that I don't like digital, but I prefer traditional.

Wow that sucks about losing a job

Don't worry, I probably wasn't fit for it. I don't feel very creative when someone tells me that I have to draw this or that, and that's what being hired to draw is like. But back then, I have felt just inferior to people with tablets and drawing programs.

It may be true about certain types of drawings, like hyper-realistic ones. Or when people make wrong texture for certain surfaces, e.g. skin shinning like a bubblegum and therefore, looking inhuman when the rest is drawn realistically.

I like the variety of effects that digits are allowing, and that I can try to make my stuff resembling screen shots from the series. I don't think my drawings - even digital ones - will ever look "too perfect" :D
