An indifferent stare. by Unmei-no-kaioshin An indifferent stare. by Unmei-no-kaioshin
Like I said, due to today being my OC's first "anniversary" (I know that it's pretty stupid to "celebrate" or even mark  these things but who can forbid me?)), I'm posting a digital remake of one of Carajillo's earliest designs.

This work is a bit sloppy and also, I'm so-so about her hair but looks like I'm finally starting to improve in digital. Or this is how I delude myself >.>Clap

I have heard of other people celebrating their OC's birthdays. So in my eyes it really isn't weird. I like the picture. I think I like her current design better. I just feel she looks a bit "young" here for lack of a better word. I feel that a being of her power and personality needs a more 'maturity" and experince

She once had to be young :3 And appearances can be misleading, especially when it comes to women :3 but I'm glad you pointed this out, as a year ago, I had been experimenting with her design very frequently, some attempts suiting more, and some less.

Yes, I am 25, and I have been mistaken for a high schooler. Good genes and sunscreen, I guess. Yeah, it isn't that she looks "young" a better word might be "inexperienced." Like she is kind of new to this God role. By the way, have you written her backstory/cosmology.

I just thought of something. Maybe I could write a oneshot about her one day? Of course, with your permission!

This also happens to me, I'm often taken as someone younger than my actual age is. Some of my co-workers were genuinely surprised when I revealed my actual age to them.

But as soon as I may start to wrinkle, people will stop this. xD

Yes, I did write down something like a back story for her. But only in Polish and on paper;  I'm not posting anything related to this for if someone wants to ask something, they just ask me in comments or in notes. Most of my watchers don't care much about this OC, I don't want to spam them with unwanted info.

Oh, it would be  a honor to have such a story dedicated to my OC. Especially when you're my fav author on DA! :excited:

Cool! You make me blush. I got to admit, you were the first to give me constructive criticism. It took me a bit to get used to it. In the past, almost all the reviewers who weren't praising me where giving me NASTY flames. It took be a bit to realize you were just trying to help me. You weren't like those nasty flamers.

I'll see what I can come up with. Can you give me any backstory here?

Oh dear, I hope that your thought that I was bashing you, didn't last for too long 0.0

I've always thought that getting some comments that are more than this giving -zero -information -on -what -did -exactly -the- readers -liked/ disliked -about -the story "I like it!" would be more beneficial to the authors, and also, that the authors appreciate having a discussion upon their works. You don't have to agree with everything I (or some other reader) would say.

I admit that i may sound too forceful, almost like enforcing my point of view, but that's not my intention. I guess it can also be viewed as such for me, using words that may have different overtones to a native English speaker than they do to me.

In the past, I was a regular reader of some story, also posted here. It wasn't the best one around, but seemed to have a potential of sort; so I kept regularly follow the new chapters to add my two cents.

However, its author seemingly felt so overwhelmed with my reviews that they apparently wrote the ending due to my suggestions, abandoning their original vision. I have no idea why would they do this, and later, figured out that they either were not certain about their content's quality, or
unused to "constructive" criticism,
having people pleasing tendencies.

So from now on, I'd write longer comments only when I see the author would like to receive such a feedback.
And when I dislike something, I also try to sound as neutral as possible for me. And I avoid getting back to story again.

As for the back story, the cosmology may seem rather long, so maybe it'd be best for me to prepare a separate note for you. I'll try to make a one asap :)

It didn't last long! You do give good feedback. I apperciate it. I am also a very sensitive person. I think writers/artist's tend to be. You do give a lot of advice and say stuff I don't think about.

Wow, they really changed the ending because of what they thought you wanted? I think trying to people please can ruin an author's chances as much as ignoring critique.

I can't promise I'll come up with a story right away, but I'll see if I can get any inspiration

I would not have suspected at all, but that author sort of revealed that to one of the other readers (one wanting the story to end in a different way). I was certain they liked my idea and followed it for that was what they wanted for themselves.
I apologized for discouraging them from following their own idea and  urged them to make an alternate version, a one they'd want to happen.

You don't have to hurry at all :)  It may take a little while to translate that thing :). It can  be a ramble as I always find translating hard (harder than just writing in English already. The main reason for me, not posting anything under 'fan fiction'). And while I use some terms shamelessly stolen from  various philosophers, I'd also have to check for English equivalents for these terms).

Also, do this only if my character truly sparks any ideas.

Nice work! You had a bit fun with colors, am I right?

And it's not silly to remember about your creations/ OCs/ "b-days."
I would deliver a cake but lost it in an accident after seeing my commission xD

I was a bit anxious about posting this on DA for I realize not everyone likes my fan character, so they'd not appreciate me, spamming about her on today. OCs are not generally liked.  So, I warned my watchers first to have them prepared for the thing coming.

I lost a follower on Instagram when I posted an artwork depicting her, not to mention about people, sending me bashful notes about a pic, in which she oh so dares to friendly/ teasingly  peck Daishinkan's check. For me, drawing an OC is a good motivation to make my own, not referenced art, but to people, it's just an annoying OC with no backstory/ reason to exist. The worst ones and the first to hate are those having fan characters themselves, but  getting their knickers in a twist  about seeing "their" crush shipped with someone else.   And the best thing I don't even ship them together.

People are idiots. I see tons of OCs I'm really not interested in getting to know better. Yet, I simply leave them be. Even if I don't appreciate them, I respect their creator's right to have fun with their fan characters. Why can't this be a general rule to all?
