It's science oriented, and is designed to be a tool for plant-breeding, and I think it's going to help us a lot. Everyone eats food, so... I think it's potentially pretty cool.
But oh, if you could see the ways in which it streams the data, braiding it together through mathematical transformations, you'd understand why I say it's beautiful.
I plan to publish on it.
Am I bragging a bit? Yes, probably, but I'm proud of this, and this is a journal, so ...
Anyway, I've learned a lot
I don't put a huge amount of stock in these things, and it's been a number of years in the making, but I just realized that I've passed 50,000 pageviews, and my pieces have been viewed close to 300,000 times.
I know, some of the truly popular artists on the site have many millions of pageviews, but hey, 50,000 isn't nothing, even if it's taken more than a decade to amass.
I don't make art to generate traffic though.
I make art because I enjoy it, and because sometimes I want to share the things I create.
Still, to all those who view, favorite, and especially comment on my pieces, to all those of you who make this community a fun place of
In the dream I had, I was underwater, and there was a ray. It wasn't any real type of ray though. Its skin shifted between opacity and translucency. It was a curious creature, and if you touched it, which it didn't mind, bioluminescense would shine forth in a multitude of colors from it. Its flesh would briefly glow a cool blue on contact, but if you pressed yourself against it, it's veins and arteries would spring to light, in brilliant crimsons and purples. Its nerves would light up in networks of greens and golds, and it was always slightly shifting in its hues. It was like a living opal. A sentient creature more beautiful than anything I
The title is Latin, and says (I think) "time flies: time fades"
I looked up the conjugation of Latin verbs, and I think I got it right, but.... even though I can speak English, Spanish and Chinese, I'm not a linguist.
The following is emo-ish, please disregard until the next underscore break.
The past few years for me have been.... mostly struggle. I mean, that's what graduate school is supposed to be. It's what life is I guess. People say that if you get a real job after grad school, things aren't quite as chaotic and painful all the time. They say that life gets "a little better." Of course, depend
Hi Everyone, I hope you're all having a great day.
I just saw that it was DA's 15th Birthday, which is pretty cool.
I read the article and they were encouraging people to submit journals with their questionnaire, and I figured, hey, why not?
So, the questions they asked are below, and my answers follow each one.
How long have you been on DeviantArt? / I have been on DA for 8 years. Wow, that sounds like a long time. It's almost 1/3rd of my lifetime.
What does your username mean? / a kinase is a type of protein that adds a phosphate group to specific targets, and in biology, they are vital signaling molecules. A universal kinase would be s
It has been a while since I've submitted anything. Sorry, I've been really busy, but in the near future, I intend to add some more art to this gallery. I hope you are all well. COVID-19 is disrupting a lot of lives, and unfortunately ending some too....
To whoever gave me an extra month of core membership, thank you very much, that was very kind of you. I don't know who did it, the message I got didn't say, but whoever you are, I'm grateful, and I'll try to share a few new fractals with all of you b...
The past 2 weeks have mostly been me, getting over a pretty bad case of influenza.
I've avoided human contact, and I don't think I've passed it on to anyone.
This strain ended up being one of the more brutal illnesses I've had.
Anyway, life continues...
