About a new rule on the MMCSome rules were just added to the MMC. All of them were made to make this activity safer for everyone. And I want to clarify one specific rule that made some controversy.
In matter of content, you may not challenge users to draw your OCs or specific characters from a fandom. This is to avoid members to take advantage of the MMC to get free art they could use in other situations. The challenger CAN ask if the challenged member agrees to draw an specific character.
This rule is specifically designed to DISCOURAGE people who only seek for free art and to take advantage of artist who want to improve. But once again, You can ask an artist to draw your OC or a character from a series, anime, manga, comic, novel, etc. but don't expect the challenged artist to be forced to say yes.
But I can't say that this rule is perfect. An user made me see that there is at least one big change that must be done to avoid an important confusion: You can ask for mythical creatu
Simply enlist by commenting below that you want to participate, BOTH to be challenged and to be able to challenge your fellow artists.
In matter of content, you may not challenge users to draw your OCs or specific characters from a fandom. You can ask for mythical creatures, cryptids, races etc. as long as it is not an SPECIFIC character. This is to avoid members to take advantage of the MMC to get free art they could use in other situations. Although the challenger CAN ask if the challenged artist agrees to draw an specific character and then create the challenge taking in consideration their response.
Challenged members can't ask for any kind of monetary compensation for the drawings requested for the MMC.
Challengers can't claim ownership over the drawings done for the MMC. However, They may request a mention if a character owned by them is used in the drawing.
Unless allowed by the artist, you can't use the images done for the MMC in projects outside of it. The artist may use them as they please, as long as they respect copyright of owned characters/trademarks and deviantart rules.
Challenges are declared by commenting in this journal. Remember to include the name of the user with either the mention "@ username" or the code ": iconusername :" both without the spaces and quotes. Like this ArkaDark or
ALSO, WE DON'T GET A NOTICE IF YOU REPLY TO AN USER IN THE COMMENTS. SO PLEASE, IF YOU WANT TO CHALLENGE SOMEONE, EITHER MENTION ArkDark IN YOUR REPLY OR COMMENT IN THE JOURNAL.
You can only challenge one user at a time, unless you're part of the UniversalFantasy Staff. Currently, only Daecus and ArkaDark could challenge multiple users at the same time.
All guidelines must be listed, and, if there is any vagueness in these guidelines, the artist challenged may interpret those guidelines however he/she chooses.
We encourage to add a due date, but they're optional. If the due date is not listed, then it can be assumed that there is none.
Challenges shouldn't be denied unless the artist already has a challenge going on. BUT they can always request for different guidelines or due dates for whatever reason. The Challenger must be lenient with the challenge. Also, this no-refusal policy is bypassed if the artist has an urgent event which does not allow him to participate or is ideologically against the topic proposed.
After three challenges have been completed by any artist, he/she has the right to refuse any further challenges for a period of 1 month. Postponements may be enacted on any challenge at any time regardless of challenge count.
All challenges must be fair in regard to the skill of the artist.
Once you have finished the challenge, comment in this journal with the link to the entry and a mentioning the Challenger (with the codes enlisted above).
Follow the group rules in matter of content.
