The baby slept, cuddling his plush dragon, in the cozy room. The wind shook the trees outside under the dark clouds, and lampposts shone their unsteady light on the suburban lane. A rusted pike jutted from one of them, shivering in the thunderstorm, just outside the sleeping house's garden.
Thunder struck far away, the crack catching up a few seconds later. The light flickered; a spark sprang from the run-down lamppost and flew towards the house's chimney.
It turned left in the ventilation ducts, right, up and right again, sizzled through a plastic grid near the ceiling of the baby's bedroom. The spark hovered in circles in the snug room, lingering near whatever flammable things it could find.
Babbling rose from the cradle. A tiny hand waved towards the glow.
The spark stopped and condensed in a tiny, purplish, shivering sphere. After a few seconds, it changed its path. It hovered and frizzled closer, until it filled the baby's wide green eyes with its electric glow. The human infant c

"Ya see what you did last time, you wretch?"
The street boy's face was a mask of anger and delight. The left half was reddened by his recent run in the cold streets of the worker's district; his right face, under his stretched finger, was a bluish and swollen bruise.
"Looks lovely, Dale", Lissam retorted between pants. "Want another to match?"
Fury flashed in the teenager's eyes. He reached for her, but was too slow; she had slipped between the two other boys into the narrow alleyway behind them.
They were older, and bigger, and they had knives. She knew she couldn't match them running; plus they had shoes, while she hadn't. Fortunately the street was clear of broken glass - the windows had been broken or sealed long before she was born.
If she couldn't match them on the ground, she would have to get off.
The ten-year-old jumped on an empty beer barrel, grabbed the gutter above her, and pulled. The shouts of her pursuers rang beneath her.
"Up here, above the pub."

"Clubfoot, you gave me your fleas", Lissam muttered from their hiding position, scratching her back. The boy turned to protest.
"But I haven't got any", he pouted. His lanky frame was all knotted in the tight space, yet some bony angles still jutted out from the hole in the rotten roof. "I told you, it's your new tunic."
She shook her head. "I've inspected it three time. There's nothing on it..."
A soft rasping came from under them. The two children tensed, and pricked up their ears.
"Are you done talking? You want everyone to know we're here?" Specs whispered angrily from below.
The girl huffed. "Keep watching", she ordered Clubfoot. The boy simply nodded, and turned to the hole in the roof.
She crawled in the low attic, out of the small blanket they had spread over the rotten beams, towards the stairs. Most of the ceiling had crumbled to a smelly paste, and holes as large as her gawked in the floor. She crouched next to the closest one, gripped the wooden beam, and leaped down in a f
The Son and the Goddess
Among the cluster of stars, there is a legend…
A starship captain was headed to a recently discovered planet. With him among his main crew was his young nephew. His nephew still a child had been requested by the leader of one clan out of the many thousands that inhabited this world. The captain hoping to get a treaty packed signed agreed. This signing would help the Federation prosper.
When the ship arrived on the planet’s surface they were met by several guards in armor. They were taken to a stronghold located in a forest. The door opened to rivaling a cloaked figure carrying a helmet. Also dressed in armor. As both the captain and young boy at his side went to take a knee. The cloaked figure removed the hood. A shock to both men as the figure turned out to be a family member. The captain’s mother.
“I understand all of this must come as quite a shock to both of you. All will be explained in good time.” Her smile was gentle. Consisting of a calm demeanor.

The panicked man’s black boots slammed down on the cement, splashing in puddles created by the harsh rain.
A duffel bag he carried weighed him down, causing him to tire faster. The suspect could hear my high-heeled footsteps echoing close behind him. I heard him breathing harder the longer we ran through the dark Las Vegas streets. Sirens wailed in the distance. But the cornered man still surged forward.
“Agent Crow, Suspect in pursuit. He is mid-thirties, 6 foot, and Native American. He is wearing all black and carrying a green duffle bug” I huffed into the silver walkie-talkie. “Location is East Desert Inn Road. Suspect is carrying stolen wares.” I rounded a corner and collided with a trash can, dropping the communication device. Without stopping, I continued tailing the man. We were Predator and Prey. Cat and Mouse. Or in reality, Cop and Criminal.

Hope this is what one young girl wanted for the world. In order to accomplish her dream. She left her family. Following the path leading out of town. After having packed some resources. Including rare material. That had been recycled. From the recent war that had occurred. After a couple of days. The child came upon a stream. Sitting down she opened her travel sack. Only some bread remained. Just as she was about to eat it.
Footsteps could be heard from behind. An elegant looking woman stood next to where she was. She looked at the bread that the smaller woman held. Never taking her eyes off of it as she sat down. The original owner of the meal offered it to the older one. The taller one smiled. Saying nothing. Kindly taking the food from her. After having consumed the bread. The woman began drinking from the stream. Tossing all items out from the bag. The other looked up to see a piece being held up to the sun. The fragment was in the shape o
Surfing the Graviton Wave - Chapter Four: part 2
His head rested against a pillow, eyes stuck wide open. Checking his digital clock every five minutes, then getting mad about the time was not helping. He just could not sleep. So, he was not at all surprised when his door creaked open, and a small shadow appeared in his doorway. "Nick, are you aroused?" A tiny, high-pitched voice whispered.
"Yeah, come on in, Mille." The fairy’s tiny head peaked around the corner of his Captain’s bed, and he grinned at the sight. She was wearing a forest green, plastic sun bonnet, which actually matched her dress quite well, the last Barbie remnant from last Christmas that Autumn had yet set to scissors, hammer, or to the flame. "Autumn’s been dressing you..."
"This is so different from your sister's dwelling..." Mili’thiaon’re looked in amazement as she scuttle
