Georgian folkloric fairy-tail Chongurist (I don't know how to translate it, sorry.)
The king said that his daughter will marry the man who'll take the apple of immortality. Nobody take it because of stone walls and the beast gvelveshapy (?). One young poor man, who played the music instrument chongUri (?) and loved princess, so he try to take tha apple from the garden. He was played on choguri for a long time and than the string collapsed. The beast was crying listening the song and gave the musician an apple. It said that the man who can create such beautiful song is worthy of immortality.

Sorry for my English.

Your English is a bit spotty, but that's okay. You got the point across and this is very lovely. :)

This is so beautiful. I love the miniscule details in the creature's scales and the bark of the tree. I'd love to see you experiment with inking your work more prominently; it would make the characters pop right out of the page.
Bravo! This is a masterpiece.

No probs on your English, dude. *gives kudos in the form of a llama* So far so good :]

Anywho, on the artwork ~ looks lovely. The earthy colors and the storytelling. I can see that the dragon is listening and that the man is being careful to play his instrument.

I personally love folklore, and this is a very fitting illustration for the excerpt you gave us ^___^

I do believe the instrument is a lute in English.

Well, this instrument has four strings. How many strings should be on lute?
I think that is not...

It's the rough shape of a lute. It would be in the same general family of instruments, but I don't know what you drew exactly.

:iconhappytearsplz: O[]o awesome!! i like the story too, but did he take the apple for himself or did he give it to the king in replacement for his daughter's hand in the end?

It doesn't written in text, but I think, he gave it to the king, because he loved king's daughter.

Beautiful! Like the beast being interwoven within the tree branches and like the offering he holds in his hand. Also like how he wraps his tail around the musician.

I remember having a similar story in Rumania, and the illustration on the book's cover was a bit like your's... It makes me wistful.
