Some of you may have noticed I've been largely absent for 2-3 months. At least I hope some of you noticed! Otherwise, I guess I need to rethink whether my returning is in fact necessary or even wanted.
I'll assume the best and forge on ahead with explanation and apology:
Simply put, life got the better of me. A huge number of unexpected challenges presented themselves all at once. And I mean a HUGE number... so many that I still wonder what it all means. It seems too much to be mere coincidence. Let me just hit the biggest challenges:
1) My Mom died.
2) My marriage was in crisis.
3) My work situation disintegrated.
Like I say, those three are the biggies but there are any number of others that normally would have been enough to overwhelm me... I'm not that resilient of a person. Things are on an upswing now though. My Mom's estate is largely settled. My wife and I are in counseling and working hard to save our marriage. I've got a new work situation that is still too new to surmise but I'm hoping it will be a move for the better.
I'd like to thank all the contributors and co-founders for keeping things together in my absence. It's affirming to see that others believe in the general mission of this group. I'd like to thank NyghtFalcon especially for his efforts as each time I looked in, it appeared he was doing a large amount of work on behalf of the group. In recognition of those efforts, I've elevated Falcon to co-founder status. It seems only appropriate.
I realize there may have been some issues and some "drift" happen with the group in my absence. Rest assured we'll be evaluating it all and possibly making some changes. First I'll want to hear from David and Falcon as well as all the rest of the contributors and all those concerned or interested in what they think needs addressing. For now, nothing drastic will be done. From a superficial browsing, I don't think anything drastic needs be done whatsoever. But we will be doing some "fine tuning" rest assured.
For now, it's good to be back!
