This particular concept was once chosen as the splash screen of Blender 2.62.

Initial scene was created and rendered in Blender 2.49 about two years ago, recently I decided to revisit and extend this scene to make a dual screen wallpaper.

I think I know how you did this. I'm into this stuff too, but in 2D (Photoshop). No matter how you did it, it's FINE! Very exciting!

may i ask how you got the basic glow? I'm having some troubles with my Starships, and I would like to learn how to make a similar result. BTW i have blender 2.48... idk if that makes a difference

I loved this image since it was Blender's splash screen.
