As soon as I opened the doors to the party, I knew I was a dog in a crowd of cats. I was wearing my best party dress that I wear to bar and bat mitzvahs, while everyone else was dressed in extravagant Halloween costumes, including characters from fantasy tales and famous singers. I headed straight for the corner and scrutinized the gathering dirt beneath my unpainted fingernails. As soon as I saw anyone come in my direction, I started off in the other without making further contact. I noticed cups and wrappers all over the floor, and it took a lot of strength to refrain from cleaning the whole mess up. I knew that my behavior at this gatherin

I made it just for you.
And over there, our spot.
Do you see it?
Under the tree.

The bees buzzing?
What about the birds?
They are singing.
Just for you.

A Blue Rose
I looked at my surroundings
And a crowd of people

As if they were magnets
And then flew open
I was in emptiness
A blue rose
Accompanied by another
Until I was in a field
And I fell back
As if the roses would catch me
