Born and raised in Mexico City, Sara G. Umemoto has been interested in visual expression since childhood. Now she is an independent photographer-artist, who holds diploma in Graphic Design and moved to Japan in 1996. Sara made her debut in the digital art scene in 2000. From 2001 she has won more than thirty awards in international competitions of photography (without manipulation) and photomontage works. Other accomplishments are The George Eastman House Honoree (GEH Honoree) distinction conferred in 2008 by Dr. Anthony Bannon, Director of George Eastman House. Also Sara has several exhibitions, publications and projects in collaboration with poets and artists from different artistic disciplines.
