...why I'm so inactive and haven't submitted the stuff I promised.
The truth is, I got a new laptop (i7, Radeon HD 7670M, 8GB RAM, etc.) with W8 pre-installed on it (great install, all drivers and software working and stuff...), but the productivity on W8 is absolutely zero, not because of the metro stuff, but the lack of aero blur which is needed for my Rainmeter skins, also I can't seem to figure out how to enable boot menu, so I can install W7. From what I've read on the forums people have managed to throw the W8 out the window and installed W7, but I want to keep W8 on dual boot with W7, unless I find (or someone tells me) a safe way to do so, I'm stuck!

P.S. - I'm already sick of the W8 look, it's less shit than stock W7 tho!

Make a partition and install Windows 7 to it, or split the hard drive. I dual-booted Windows 7 and Windows 8 for a brief period. When you install Windows 7, the Windows 8 boot manager will be overwritten so you get the old-school boot options when dual-booting.

Example:
Windows 7 (default)
Windows 8

A good piece of software I find that is free is AOMEI Partition Assistant Home. [link]

I'll be doing a giveaway soon for the Pro version of Partition Assistant.

As I said, I can't get to the boot menu (and the "press any key to boot from DVD..." when I insert the W7 disc), it's like W8 is coming out of hibernation every time I turn the PC on and also the boot speed is much like WinXP and W7 when powering on after hibernation. And there isn't that moment between bios screen and the actual boot, it's only... W8 boot screen. That's my problem.

I know the rest of the story though, I've tried every W8 beta version with W7 on dual boot, on my old PC in every combination and it worked.

That partition software could be useful, because what Microsoft gave us is complete trash.

I had that problem too. I just installed Windows 7 from within Windows 8 rather than booting from the disk. It will extract/copy the files to the hard drive, reboot and continue the installation as usual.

I already have it installed, but the aero doesn't seem to work there. Any suggestions?

The price is 700GBP, a lot cheaper than my previous laptop.
