I like this version of the Rigel class the most and there's littel i would have done different.

Hiryu, in all its images, looks to be a fantastic starship.

Still, I preferred Hiryu with the straight nacelle wings, which seems to echo the original series' Constitution-class starships.

That's just me.

That´s okay. :)

I by myself think: Both versions are okay.
I like the USS HIRYU, all in all, a little bit more as the USS RIGEL, but I like the RIGEL-Narcelles slightly more as the HIRYU-Narcelles... ;) :)

The USS RIGEL mesh has upward pylons and different looking narcelles. ;)
This is the USS HIRYU - one of the later commissioned serial models in my Fan-Fictions.

For my FF´s I´ve written a little legend about this ship-class. In this legend the RIGEL-CLASS is the intermediate step between the EXCELSIOR-CLASS and the AMBASSADOR-CLASS, developed and constructed around 2310-2320. By testing the USS RIGEL the Feds found out, that the warp-field was going instable by flying with Warp-Factors above Warp 8,8. So the Starfleet-Engineers modified the pylons and the narcelles of the prototype and created the final version of this ship-class - that is looking more like the AMBASSADOR-CLASS.
