I had a good time KOKOMO-CON this past weekend, Oct. 19. I wanted to thank not only the organizers, whom I've gotten to know over the past few years, but also those that stopped by to chat up with some good conversations. Met some new creators, which is always good and some new friends as well. But anyways, Shawn Hilton and friends treated me well and I truly appreciate that. But anyways, wanted to show an exclusive print that was made for the show. Only 50 were made and I remarqued the first one.The print measures 18x24. The prints turned out really well and it also made for great show badges for entry. So yeah, I had a good time. Thanks guys and gals!
It's been awhile since I've updated this journal thing. But to make a long story short, I'll be at the Wizard Ohio Con this weekend. I'll not only be in Artist Alley, but I'll also be a part of the panel, Multicultural Heroes on Sunday. I'll have some new stuff to present such as books, prints, etc. So stop by and as always, would love to see ya' and talk shop.

Alright, Alright. This weekend will most likely be my last convention of 2012. So, I want to go out with a blast. I'll be bringing with me this year's sketchbook "Thinking on Paper" as well as some others I have left over from previous years. I've got some great new prints and some very limited poster size prints on canvas. The poster size canvas print, which measures 36x24 is that of the Xmen v. Avengers piece I finished earlier this year. And, I must say that it is stellar. I'm definitely going to be hanging one up on on my own wall. I've really enjoyed Kokomo last year and the staff was just wonderful. I look forward to it this weekend and hope to see some of you all there. I'll be doing commissions on site as well.

I've been looking forward to heading back up to this show for a year now. It'll be about 3yrs. now I've attended and each one has been better than the previous. Not only are the guests of the show stellar, but also the folks that come and visit this show, I feel are very energetic and I like to feed off that kinda stuff. Another reason I like this show is because of the city itself. I can find myself living up in Minnesota should I choose to. But, at the moment, i'm not. I love taking the tour of the city as my friends like to do and just being able to hang with them for another 3-4 days is awesome! And that brings us to the third, and not least reason, MY FRIENDS! Good people and would love to be able to hang around such an artistic and creative crowd more often. HOpe to see some of you all this weekend as I'll have some new originals for sale, along with some new prints as well. I'll also will be doing commissions there too. The new sketchbook i'm working on won't be available until Comic Con. But until then, I still have some books from some previous years. Hope to see you all there!

Hey all,

I swear that sometimes I forget to promote anything that I'm doing. I get so involved with doing what I like to do best, which is create art. I wish I had an assistant at times to help me control alot of things that I do. But anyways, if you're in the area of Lexington, Kentucky this weekend, stop on by where I'll be present for my first show of the year. It's a new show with some good guests. I'll be there doing convention sketches, along with sketchbooks and prints. Also wanted to mention in regard to my prints that I'm looking to make room for newer works, so i'll be giving deals on my prints this weekend. HOpe to see you there.

Hey all,
I hope every one has had a great holiday and enjoying this new year. I, for one am enjoying the time afforded me to create some good artwork. Have a few things in the fire to start the season, but first I wanted to mention my time at Lehigh Valley Comic Con. Now that the con season has settled down for now and gearing back up here shortly, I was very pleased and amazed at the turnout at Lehigh Valley Comic Con. Such great organizers with the show as I have to tip my hat off to them. They did a wonderful job in promotions to get the folks out on what was such a great weather weekend. Also wanted to mention that the folks that came by my table to have some pretty good conversations were awesome. What could be better than a bunch of folks getting together to talk about comics and having a good laugh. Well, that what I did. I truly appreciate you guys. And with another year of shows and appearances and freelancing work, I must say that it was a very productive and want to thank all those that have appreciated the work enough to come by and say hi and even pickup a commission or two and some art books. With that support, it definitely makes someone, like myself to work even harder in producing the best art that I can produce.  Thank you all!

I've never been to Kokomo before, but that song (you know what it is) is in my head from time to time. So, at the last minute, I ask about space at the show and Shawn was happy to oblige. I had no idea what to expect from this show, but I heard good things about it last year with it being its first year. So, after the drive there and the moment I walked in the door, the staff and organizers were on their game. I mean, the staff I think were just as jazzed as I've ever seen at any particular show. What an amazing presentation this show presented to not only me, but to those who took time out to come visit and check out the scene. I have to say that alot of other big shows need to take a page at what these one day shows are doing. Kokomo Con took the cake for me. I truly appreciate all those that were working hard to put together a great show with attendance being way up from last year. They truly made me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in the door. And doing 6 pieces in an 8hour day is probably the fastest i've every produced for a one day show. Hell, I did 17 pieces at Comic Con this year over three days. So, that's how busy I was along with selling other merchandise such as sketchbooks, prints and sketch DVDs and just plain 'ol chatting it up with folks who found time to stop by. I appreciated everything about yesterday that I won't forget and most likely i'll be back for next year.
thanks and enjoy the art. I know I did :)
Alrighty, next week will be the Cincinnati Comic Expo. A very exciting guest list as i'll be there :). But anyways, I hope to see some of you all there next weekend. Ill come back to post up any convention pieces I do.

Devious Journal Entry

Being able to be a a part of the Baltimore con experience is a personal joy, considering that I'm from D.C. and am able to go back home to be with family and great friends when growing up

Okay, so with it being my first time at Comic Con, I cannot express how exciting this show was. But first, I wanted to thank the great folks that I've met this past week at Comic Con. I wouldn't have had such a great show without you all whether you were buying or just coming over to have a conversation. It was all engaging and I appreciate you all. It made for a wonderful show and one that I won't forget. Also, I want to thank the folks over at Deviant Art for the sponsorship of Artist Alley. It's one of the best artist alley's i've been a part of. Not only with cushioned seats, but also with carpeted floors and two huge digital displays that showed the artists that were involved with artist alley. I think the displays had to be a good 10' in height that were hung from the ceiling. It was such a busy show that I could not even walk the entire show floor because I knew I had to get back to my table to finish up some con sketches. There were also some hotties in and out of costume, but I could not take pictures of them all, sadly :) but I think I took enough. Plus, it was my first trip out to San Diego and I did not want to leave with such beautiful weather and being around such creative people, made me wish the show was a few hours longer on Sunday. I also displayed two new sketchbooks for the year at the Con, that I will soon place on my website for purchase if you can't make it out to a show I'll be attending. But all in all, I can't wait to go back as I signed up again for next year before I left the convention. Also, my roomies for the week were GRant Gould and his fiance'. What a great pair and had fun the entire time.
Enjoy,
uko
Okay, so this weekend i'm off to another one day show in Akron. This is a new show with some great guests and some I can say are friends of mine. So, let's get some people out to this show and have some fun for a Sunday afternoon. I'll be doing some con sketches, with sketchbooks and prints in tow. I look forward to seeing you all there. You can check out their site here @ northcoastcomiccon.com/
