Ten Years After
After the ceremony for the newest captain, everyone adjourned to the Kuchiki estate for an elaborate party that was sumptuously catered by the Kuchiki staff.
Shunsui had never had to fake a smile so much in his life. Of course he was genuinely happy for Rukia-chan and she had worked really hard for her position. And at the ceremony he was all smiles. Once the others had left he sat in his chair for awhile while Nanao watched on quietly. He saw her shift position and prepared for her words.
“Time to head to the party, sir!”
“Hai hai Nanao-chan, just give these old bones a chance to move.”
“You say that, but you could beat anyone in a foot race and you know it.” She grumbled at him.
He chuckled and slid the pink kimono back over his shoulders with a sig

PAIRING: SHUNUKI, Shunsui Kyoraku, Juushiro Ukitake
COMMENTS: Juushiro is a very sick man who’s all alone. He has no idea that he has a rather large dark guardian angel looking after him. After seeing this picture I couldn’t resist doing a drabble.
My Dark Angel
Juushiro Ukitake was not a well man. He was often sick and being near literal death.
There were times he felt like someone was standing beside him, comforting him, holding him while he struggled to breath. But he knew that wasn’t possible. No one had even noticed the ill mans daily struggles with living.
There were times he felt he should just end his suffering, something always stopped him. It was like some one guided his hand away from the bottle of pills, or his thoughts were turned away from picking up that sharp knife. Something always stopped him.

Illness of the MindAnd lilies and cherry blossoms began to fall from the sky, the endless vault of the heavans awash with pink and white.
And she began to weep, bitter tears, for it was not fair that only in the transient air that they could be together.
It was not fair!
It was not a torrent, not a gentle misting, but a sweet cascade, where memories drifted here and there, like tunes of childhood stories.
Even here, in this living world, where everything was held captive by laws of the universe, the flowers rained together.
She could not avenge his death, she could not slice them all to ruin, her sword find purchase in the poison of illness of the body.
Why is it they would not let her see him, that they would lock him away now, as his body failed.
She had lost her pride even, begged on her knees to see the ailing taichou, but the sweet face of Unohana would only give her a sad shake of the head.
He is dangerous, even if his body is failing, it is illness of the mind.
He is dangerous.
And when she

TITLE: Life Fight
Healing was always a long tiring road. By this time in his life Juushiro Ukitake was use to long convalescences but that didn’t make the boredom any easier to bear.
Of course Shunsui was there…….. a lot, to keep him company. He was there so much that he was now use to seeing Nanao as well. She brought some delicious treats and wonderful books to read. At least he was entertained.
But even with all the visitors and things he occupied himself with he was still bored. Rukia seemed to be making a conscious decision to avoid him since her return from Hueco Mundo. He had read the reports and could understand why, but did she think he was upset or something?
At the moment he was sleeping lightly, the sound of an occasional page turning or a muffled snort of laughter came from the lounging figure nearby as Shunsui was ‘keeping him company’ yet again. The man’s resting reiatsu was so
