So as you may have noticed I haven't submitted anything since Summer. The reason isn't that I'm lazy but my stupid depression is back. It is being treated but honestly I can't seem to focus on anything creative at the moment and I'm barely doing the everyday stuff. I have literally stared for hours at my beads and bits of paper and couldn't come up with a simple collage or a pendant. I'd mostly like to lie in bed and read books until it's Spring again, to be honest.

Knitting seems to be something that keeps me occupied and not demanding at the same time so I'm making a lot of scarves and hats.

I'm going for a short holiday to Germany tomorrow and hoping to take some photos, I generally like to visit new places, provided I can get myself to go out.

Hopefully this will pass soon, as it is seriously pissing me off.

That really sucks, I know a lot of us can relate (glances guiltily at all the stories to finish, and all the beads, and all the cross-stitch projects...)

I'm glad you can still do the knitting; feeling productive is one of the best antidotes (besides drugs, heh) to depression. Hope it passes soon!

The only thing that helps me when the blues knock on my door is to get the hell out of the house and return as late as possible - and that doesn't mean to get drunk.

Depression really is stupid but don't be to hard on yourself. Sometimes I feel guilty for not being creative but its okay to take some time off to focus on your sanity. Having time away from the arts can give you newfound inspiration when you return! Take care of yourself.

Don't force yourself to work if you don't want to.  Sometimes you just need a break to get back into it.  Go do something else for a while (like knitting, reading, and whatnot) and rest for a while.  Maybe in the meantime, you'll find a new craft you like to do and you can switch back and forth when you have difficulty working on one.  Since you're enjoying knitting, maybe you can work with that?
I am hoping too see more from you soon!  Your work is positively beautiful.  However, I want you to enjoy yourself too.  Just relax for now.  You'll get back to it, and we'll be here waiting for you when you come back.  :)

Boy oh boy, can I totally understand what you're going through!! I've had all the creative impulse of a fried egg lately, because depression has such a grip on my soul and won't. let. the. heck. GO. :-(

Hope you feel better soon! A change of scenery and some good sunshine usually helps me, maybe it'll help you too!

I can relate, I this whole past year almost has been that way for me.  I finally got my beads out and made a few things for gifts.  Did some organizing.   I find that I do that more than I do create.  I've not even done a doodle since like April I believe.  Which is HORRIBLE for me.  I've not even been able to get back into reading, I used to do that every night.  My entire life got dumped upside down in April and I'm still trying to pick up pieces and sweep up the parts that are too broken to fix.  I can understand depression... A LOT.   I'm waiting for the new year so that I can get back to my doctor and get my meds upped back to the dose I was on previously.

I wish you the best of luck on your trip, it may be just what you need.  I'm going on a bit of a trip myself, but not near as far or fun as yours.  LOL  Gonna go see my parents in New Mexico for a few days.  yay

I can sympathize with the whole being pissing you off too.  I think we BOTH need to pull our muses out of the bar and get them back to work!    Hang in there!
