Mountain elves are the largest and by far the most violent and ferocious unlike their peaceful cousins the common and the dark elves. Mountain elves are greatly feared for their ferocity in battle and just by the mere sight of them. Their culture is all about strength and superiority since their lives revolve living upon mountains and lowland valleys they do whatever it takes to survive. At birth they are examined but if the infant was premature or deformed, they were killed. Until they could stand they would become separated from their parents and taught how to fight often with their bear hands. They don't believe in a monarchy and would fight each other to attain leadership over the tribes. Ones that never lose battles would be treated with great respect but if they were die in battle the mantle for leadership would be challenged over their children no matter how old they are.
They are often nicknamed 'lion-elves' because of the distinct growls they make and ride on giant reptilian-like cats called Panthadars. In their world there is no such thing as giving it's all about taking. They would raid upon villagers and take all that resides there, taking survivors as slaves. When it comes to marriage it's all about strength. A male would pick a female to fight with, if the male wins over the female they become husband and wife. If a female would win she has the choice to kill or spare him but would often be shamed if losing. They have an extremely high resistance to the cold.
General Wraathar is a veteran when it comes to fighting and has a great loathing for incompetence. He's also and idealist and it was this thinking that tempted him and his people to join the Shadowed Legion within Azatar. He leads the slavery and mining operations of the legion using his sheer might to drive fear into the workers. Despite not ever losing a battle he dreams of fighting and slaying a dragon.

So these guys are like the Spartans of elves
