Jack Thunder and the Staff in the Mountain

It was a rather calm morning on Tempest Island. Storm clouds thundered above and below the continent in the clouds, raining down a curtain of sleet which condensed into a misty haze that blanketed the ground below. It was on this particular morning that a certain inhabitant of this island, a storm gremlin by the name of Jackson S. Thunder, stirred from his sleep to greet the new day. “Yet another morning,” he said to himself. “Another grey, gloomy, rainy morning. Not a speck of sunshine around. That’s how I know today’s gonna be a great day!” He had big plans for today. You see, he had moved up a level in his magical studies, and the new spells he was supposed to learn required air crystals to conduct. “Frosti!” he shouted to his sister as he packed his lunchbox to go out. “I’m going out! I’m gonna explore Mount Tempest. See if I can find any more air crystals.” He waved goodbye to his sister as he stepped out the front door of their

Jack Thunder was just another storm gremlin on Tempest Island, living with his sister Frosti, when he stumbled upon a powerful staff inside a cave in Mount Tempest. Now he must learn to use it to protect his home world of Altairus from the evil of the Wendigoes and their Null Magic. It's a tall order for a gremlin only on the cusp of adolescence, but with the help of his friends, he will see it through.
Sub-folders expand on Altairian lore. Deviations that show Jack Thunder and Frosti in their "Care Bears OC Villains" era (aside from the earliest concept art) have been removed, since they are not pertinent to this series. These deviations can still be viewed in the Care Bears folder.

Do you ever wonder why no one believes in magic anymore? You might think it’s because we’ve come up with scientific explanations for magical acts, or that such things are the remnants of a religion no longer relevant to the modern era. You would be forgiven for thinking these thoughts. There was once a time where magic ruled the land, where humans and fairies coexisted, sometimes peacefully, sometimes tenuously, and miracles were a given. Such a time does not exist anymore. This is the story of how the magic on Earth died. Beyond this planet we call home there exists another Earth, a mirror Earth, if you will. Humans know this world by many names, but its denizens know it by one; Altairus. Long ago, Earth and Altairus were connected via a series of portals. These portals tended to show up in places where imagination could reign; in the middle of the forest, in an oceanic cave, or even in a child’s closet.
