Team Name: Shadowheart Rank: Farfetch'd
Guild: Rogue
Member 1 Signature: Stellaluna, Shiny Female Ninetales (Her fur is white, and her tail tips and mane are pink opposed to the usual blue)
Trait & Personality: Quiet, somewhat vain
Move 1: -Hypnosis- Stella manipulates the target's mind, putting them to sleep or into a trance. The effect is strongest when looking into her eyes. Can also be used to cause slight illusory effects.
Move 2: -Dream Eater- This can be used to enter the dream of sleeping Pokemon. The first time this was attempted was during Mission 4, when Stella tried to pull Ribbons from her Nightmare. In the offensive, Stellaluna approaches her sleeping target, and becomes surrounded by a sinister violet aura as she steals some life force from the foe. (Think of Dementors from Harry Potter)
Move 3: -Inferno- Concentrating her energy, she heats the air around her. In instances of extreme cold, she does this to form a warm haven of air to protect those around her. Should she actually decide to attack, this can be devastating, setting fire to everything within range. Directing it at a single opponent, sometimes from her mouth, is a bit more difficult. (This move's base accuracy is only 50%) If it does it, it will always cause a severe burn.
Move 4: -Hex- Speaking an ancient language, Stella curses the foe, casting spells to cause physical and mental distress. Until recently, she had no control of this. In dire straits, or periods of extreme anger or emotion, she would mutter an incantation. After an unorthodox encounter, she is now able to understand the tongue passed down through her father's bloodline. *(see 'Advent Child')
Accessories: A Fire Obsidian Simple Gem Necklace with a red gold chain
Member 2 Signature: Renegade, Shiny Male Mightyena
Trait & Personality: Hasty, thoroughly cunning
Move 1: -Attract- Renegade releases pheromones and flirts with the target, making them fall in love with him (or at least do what he wants them to). This usually comes with much flattery. He uses this move sparingly, only when he sees it as necessary. (He used it to convince Stella to adopt him)
Move 2: -Poison Fang- This Mightyena of mixed heritage bites down hard on the foe, possibly inducing sickness with a potent toxin. He doesn't have the hollow fangs of his serpentine father; the venom is secreted from a gland beneath his tongue, mixing with his saliva.
Move 3: -Incinerate- Fueled by anger, courage, or just the thrill of the fight, Ren spouts a stream of flame from his mouth. Stella taught him this technique shortly after adopting him. During a hunting trip through Creeping Forest, they were ambushed by a group of Slasher's Sneasel. The first time he used this move successfully was in helping her fight them off. They were sure to make an example of one of the pack. (Needless to say, they ate well for a couple of days)
Move 4: -Hyper Beam- A powerful, destructive white beam of energy is fired from Ren's mouth. It's so taxing that he cannot fight for a while afterward.
Accessories: Red-orange Moonbead bracelet worn on his tail.
Member 3 Signature: Anima, Female Totodile
Trait & Personality: Impish, very mischievous
Move 1: -Fake Tears- Anima's signature move. She looks adorable and cries in order to get her way or to fluster her "enemy." If this doesn't work she usually gets angry and throws a tantrum.
Move 2: -Scary Face- The foe is frightened by a horribly scary, intimidating face. They become scared stiff, which harshly compromises their speed.
Move 3: -Scald- Boiling water is sprayed at the foe (her favorite target being the face or backside). Her ability to create such warmth saved her while frozen at Cobalt Lake. May cause a burn.
Move 4: -Aerial Ace- Anima confounds the target with extreme speed, becoming nearly invisible. She then slashes or rams them. The attack lands without fail. She has been known to use this in order to dash or jump to high places.
Accessories: Spikey Hood. She also often carries Ren's old scarlet bandana. It serves as a sort of security blanket for her. She holds it constantly now that he is missing.

====================================================================
It was late in the evening. The blustering wind howled eerily as a Ninetales and Mightyena stood outside a small building near what used to be the Merchant's hut, waiting in the freezing rain. A small baby Totodile sat on the Mightyena's shoulders.
Stella shuddered and shook her fur. With more than a hint of annoyance she said, "Is he just going to let us stand here? I know he's expecting us, and the outside light turned on when we got here."
"Maybe we should try knocking." Renegade suggested, stepping forward. Not really capable of knocking, he scratched on the door saying, "Helloooo? Is anyone here?"
Almost instantaneously, the door swung open, revealing a rather scruffy-looking Ninetales. His fur was silvery grey, but it was impossible to tell whether he was shiny, or just plain old. Black ink stained the tips of his tails, dousing any chance of knowing for sure.
"Come in, come in! My goodness, come in! I can't believe you've been waiting outside in the rain all this time! You could have knocked earlier, you know!"
"What did I tell ya?" Stella mumbled as she pushed through to the warmth inside.
"My name is Callahan, or Calla, for short. I'm the guild registrar, you know. I'm quite good at it!" His grin was uncanny. He seemed far too excited about this.
A barely visible blur of blue zipped behind our jolly registrar. He let out a yip and quickly jerked up a tail. The end of which had somehow been succsessfully stuffed in the small lizard's jaws.
"What in the name of-- How rude!" he said, jostling his tail.
The baby let go, landing with a small "plop." Her mouth was stained with black ink. According to her face, it didn't taste enjoyable. She swiped at her tongue with her hands, to no avail. And now they were stained as well.
"Anima, get back over here; you know better than to do that to strangers." the white fox scolded.
"Obviously she does not." Callahan murmured.
Anima crawled over to Stellaluna with a mopey countenance, then sat between her front legs and hung her head.
Then, with a quick, fluid movement, Calla removed Stella's obsidian Gem Necklace and Witch's Cloak, as well as the messenger bag from around Ren's neck and hung it on the mantle. As he did this, he said, "Allow me to take your belongings, they're all wet!" I'll just hang them in front of the fireplace to dry as we go over the formalities."
"I hardly see how you taking my necklace makes me any less drenched." Stella huffed.
"And the paperwork, of course! There will be a lot of that, don't you worry one bit!" Calla said, taking his place behind a large desk. "You do have the forms that we've mailed you filled out, yes? That does always make things go much quicker here."
"We have them." said the shiny Mightyena. "They're in that bag you took off of me."
Callahan turned around, fished some papers from the bag and placed them on the desk. "What's this? These forms are soaking wet.. and the ink has run! Goodness, we're in for a lot more paperwork than I could have hoped to dream of!"
The white Ninetales tossed her sopping rosy bangs to the side. "Of course they're wet, did you not notice the weather? And the ink is legible; I'm sure if you just leave them flat to dry they'll be-"
Calla interrupted, "No, it's no matter, I have spare forms, and all the time in the world! I trust you have no pressing appointments yet, so I'll write down your information now."
He then dipped a tail into a bottle of ink. After waiting through a moment of silence he added, with a grin, "With your help, of course."
"Shall we begin, then?" Stella sighed.
"Yes, let's get right down to it, shall we? My fastest time for entering a team in the official guild registrar is a touch under a few hours; let's see if we can break the record! All right now.. names, please?"
"My name is Stellaluna, the baby is Anima." she replied.
"And mine's Renegade! But lots of 'mon just call me 'Ren'." he said, wagging his tail.
"Ahh.. what.. commo- er, good names you all have! How do you spell them?"
"S-t-e-l-l-a-l-u-n-a. No uppercase in the middle. For some reason it's often misspelled with 'Luna' capitalized. Anima is spelled 'A-n-i-m-a.' But since we have such a 'common' names, I'm sure you could have spelled them just fine by yourself." said the fox, narrowing her eyes.
"My name is spelled 'R-e-n-e-g-a-d-e.'" said Ren.
"Interesting spelling! Are you foreign? French, perhaps?"
The two adults looked at each other with slightly confused faces.
"Ah, no, forget it, France is just made up here, you know. Often used as comic relief. Er, just forget that." Callahan chuckled as he wrote down their names. "Moving on!
"What alias do you wish to give you lot of fellows? I hope it's something good! I've been so bored by Pokemon insisting to use a name like 'Team Awesome' or anything of the sort. More like 'Team Mediocrity,' I like to think! I'm sure you have a much more original name."
Stella began, "Gunpowder sort of named us; well, just me, I suppose. It was before I'd adopted Ren here, and-"
"Please do get on with it, miss."
She shot him a glare, then said, "The team's name is Shadowheart."
"I knew you wouldn't let me down! Is that the normal spelling, or do you insist on losing letters, or replacing them altogether entirely? (I hope not..)"
"It's all one word." she said, in a sugary tone. "The 'H' starting 'heart' is lowercase."
There was no disguising his disgust. "Hm.. I.. see. How unique of you..."
Stella rolled her eyes as he scribbled it down.
"And.. done. All right! Next topic!
"You there, lass! You seem to be the leader of the team, here. Why don't you tell me about yourself? Please make it interesting! I'm not filing a police report, you know. I don't get paid for this, either. I do it for the stories people tell! Everyone has a story! (Some are better than others, though. That's for sure..) However, I do hope yours isn't filled to the brim with angst and darkness, you know. We have enough of that as it is with the recent crises we've been going through!
"If you insist on weaving a yarn of incredible sadness and general malaise, please make it good. I'll discern the necessary details from your story and put it down in the log book here."
"Then I suppose I can keep the melancholy to a minimum, for your sake." Stella answered with sarcasm. "The darkness on the other hand is a bit unavoidable, I'm afraid. I usually prefer to be out at night, you see, unless it's one like this. I grew up a good distance west of this region, on my own. My father doesn't deserve to be called as such, and that's all I'm going to say about him. But because of this, I know how to fend for myself, and I'm fine with moving from area to area. Hunting has become a favorite hobby of mine, as well as stargazing. When I got wind of the guilds here in Tao, I knew I had to check it out. I have plans, and joining a guild seems to have been a good start."
"What an enchanting tale! I can see why you'd probably like to join the Rescuers!"
"Uhh.. no. I'm a member of the Rogues Guild. I intend to keep it that way."
"So I see. And you there, lad, what is your story? Your leader has done an excellent job of keeping me awake at this late hour, I hope you do the same!"
"I'll try, sir!" He said; he seemed to have been itching to talk. "I didn't know my parents very long either, but that's okay, 'cause what I couldn't remember about them I've heard from Missy. I was hatched in Gambitville. My mom's a Mightyena named Lucine, and my dad's an Arbok named Ziya. I got my dad's color (he's yellow like me), and his poison too! Isn't that neat? But something happened; I can't remember very much about it, and they couldn't raise me, so I ended up at Missy's daycare. But I'm not mad at them for it, Missy's really nice, and I had lots of others to play with. I was really excited when Luna decided to adopt me, though! I've always wanted to be part of an exploration team." He ended beaming.
Calla then turned his attention to Anima. "And our third member! Child, please, tell me about yourself! How did you come to meet that raggedy bunch of Pokemon and become so interested in them that you decided to join? Do tell!"
"Well, you see, Callahan, she can't speak quite yet." Stella interrupted.
"So young that she can't speak? Well now! I've heard of robbing the cradle, but I never thought I'd live to see the day the phrase has turned literal! This youngster has much to learn, but I'm sure you'll raise her to be a fine member of society! Please, tell me how it came about that you recruited her!"
"I found her egg one morning frozen on the shore of Cobalt Lake. This was back when Sorbet was still among us; before his birthday celebration, to be exact. I couldn't find it in myself to leave the egg there to possibly die, and brought it back to my home." She kind of looked off when she said it, suddenly realizing that she was indeed a cradle robber. Quickly recomposing herself, she continued. "I wrapped her in a blanket and she soon hatched by my fireplace. Renegade and I have been watching her since, but never thought to make her a member of our team. Now is a better time than ever I suppose, I don't want her to be left out of anything."
"Very well, then! It seems I have all I need in order to register you here in our peaceful Tao Village! Just to make sure all the facts are correct, please look over them and sign your initials at the bottom! Don't forget to sign off on your belongings! You wouldn't believe how many people forget their accessories, only to leave them here with me! (Please don't do that, I have so many things cluttering up my attic in dusty old boxes..)
"Now if Anima could sign here with an 'X' and a pawmark-- since I'm assuming she can't write yet either... "
The baby had long since nodded off, obviously bored. Stella nudged her awake. "Here, baby. Put your paw here... and make a little 'X'... Good job sweetie!"
"Well, now! I don't think I'll keep you here any longer, that seems to be everything I need! I haven't broken any records for time tonight, though. Your story took up quite a bit of it! (Thankfully, it didn't put me to sleep.. it's happened before). Go out now, and get some rest! (With a child like that I'm sure you need it...) And how about a bath for the little one, hmm? Oh well! Time to conclude our business here!"
And with that, Callahan swiftly pushed the two of them (quite forcefully) out into the torrential downpour, and shut the door behind them. Stella whipped back around, bits of flame sparking angrily between her teeth. "Callahan!!" she barked. "We would appreciate our things back!"
The door reopened almost as quickly as it had been closed. "Ah, see? You nearly forgot them! This is what I was talking about earlier." He tossed their things back to them and with a short "Good night." closed the door again.

Edit 9/14/12: Updated to the current format. Also added a detail about Anima's "accessory."
Takes place after M6. (Hence Renegade being evolved.)
