Wanamaker Eagle by TWAFE Wanamaker Eagle by TWAFE
This is the famous Eagle at Wanamaker's in center city Philadelphia.

This has been a famous meeting place and decorative structure in the middle of one of Philadelphia's most famous stores since 1904. Purchased by John Wanamaker, he put the 2500 pound bronze eagle (with 5000 hand wrought feathers) in the middle of the sales floor of his iconic Wanamaker's department store where it stands today, almost looking up at the pipes of the massive pipe organ.

Wanamaker's may have changed hands and been renamed (its Macy's now) and the building only may retain the name, but to locals, this store is still Wanamaker's and this will always be the Wanamaker Eagle.
