Mobile Frame Sylph by TurinuZ Mobile Frame Sylph by TurinuZ
Alrighty, done with the base model of the recreation of the Sylph! Will eventually role out some design sheets, alongside those of Duke, for the Encheledon.

Really cool designs, do you have these rigged/animated?

Lol, I wish they were. Google Sketchup doesn't support rigging, so I can't animate them or anything along those lines. Instead I use floating articulation points to move the parts into the place I need them. The floating articulation points could be used as a reference for rigging, though. I've never had much luck exporting to Blender for rigging though (Blender is over my head. D: ).

Ahh, gotcha. You're one of my favorited artists on DA, I really love your designs. I'm creating a mecha game in Unity and I partially referenced the shape of one of yours when I modeled my first one. I'd love to see your mechs rigged up and moving around in a video game. Are all these designs for particular projects, or part of a comic/fiction, etc? I've been trying to figure it out as I look at all of them.

Aye, a lot of them are sectioned off into certain projects. For instance, the Frame Crash models are made for an RP Forum that I'll probably be starting up again around December. Most ships are for a little story setting I made called the Great Space Race. Sylph here is part of a story setting I made called Encheledon. Each gallery should have a slight description of the story setting, and those with descriptions help delve a bit deeper into the universe and how technology works.

this is a really awesome looking design!  I'm loving where this is going.  The thrusters on the chest make me think that this mech is designed for low/zero gravity environments :D

Trying to double the thruster count from its old version. Including the Shield Binders, it has over 28 thrusters; 16 without the shield binders (Four on the front, six on the back, two per shoulder, and one on each elbow).

You can see the old version here: turinuz.deviantart.com/gallery…

O_O.
Thats insane even for a mecha! I wonder how much fuel is used for the boosters alone? XD

It is indeed completely nonsensical. But it's for the Encheledon, which is a virtual combat setting, so some rules of reality can be broken to a degree. (b',')b
