Description
The Orion Nebula is an interstellar gas cloud located in the constellation of Orion. Going by the common catalogued designation M42, it is a region of star formation, with massive gas clouds coalescing to form newborn stars. Within the nebula, powerful stars emit high energy radiation that ionises the surrounding gas cloud, creating the characteristic glow of emission nebulae. Meanwhile, starlight from hot, blue stars also reflect off parts of the gas cloud, creating pockets of blue reflection nebulosity.

A long total exposure, especially in Ha, makes this image of the Orion so spectacular!
