I am here today to report you on a big change on my life, for i have moved to my very first own appartment (for the first time, wait i said that, didn't i?).
I have now been living 2 weeks here and so far so good, nothing big has happened, of course im missing basicly everything from pots & pans to living room furniture... But today i got Internets! :w00t:

I look forward to the future, eventhough it will take some time to get used to take care of myself... nothing is more scary than life, also nothing more exciting than life :)

Oh and if you have any money saving tips, share them :p

moneysavingtip#1: Spend your money in meth -> no hunger = no need to buy food ;)
moneysavingtip#2: If you however need to buy some food, always pick the stuff marked with a red pricetag. The parasta ennen-dates are usually a week earlier than what they actually should be. (except for minced meat and milk maybe). Also if you find something in your refrigerator with an expired date, look at it. If it doesn't look as if it's gone bad, smell it. If it doesn't smell bad, taste it. If it doesn't taste strange, eat it :)
moneysavingtip#3: Visit your parents and grandparents often. A free meal is always a free meal :D (and if you're lucky, you might score a few "on kai sulla rahaa ruokaan" :s too)
moneysavingtip#4: Cancel all your magazine & newspaper subscriptions. Everything is on the internet anyway :>
moneyusingtip#1: don't be afraid to buy expensive stuff if you need it or feel that having it makes your life happier or easier. The amount of money does (for some very weird and unknown reason) have much to do with what you can buy.

And yeah.. good luck! n__n

Congrats on making the big move. I bet those two weeks without internet weren't as bad as you thought, huh?

Well it could have been a couple of days longer, i didn't finish playing Legend Of Zelda Majora's Mask which i wanted to play through, but now i won't because of the internet distraction.

Don't buy porn, you can get it for free. Don't buy lotion, the extra umph isn't worth the money.

Don't have a cam unfortunately, but there's really not much to see. Maybe i can describe it to you...

You are in front of a white door, there's a small tall window on the door from which you can see inside the appartment. There is a burned out light to your upper left that says: "B6". A shoe cleaning rack next to you is covered in snow. A small button that looks like a doorbell is to your left.

What do you do?

The door cracks open by itself, you step inside. To your left is the coat hanger, you take another step further. You are now at a crossing, to your front is the door to the bathroom/shower/sauna, to your left is the currently empty bedroom with only a small basket full of dirty laundry and a backpack. To your right is the living room from which you can see the only light in the house coming from.

What will you do?

;)

You see the bathroom, there's a shower on the left corner, a toilet on the right. A sink is in front of the toilet with a mirror on top of it. Below the mirror you see a hairbrush, toothbrush and toothpaste, surprisingly all being used. You look at the sauna, it's small with a small bucket inside. Other things you see in the bathroom are two cabinets, a medical cabinet with a lock and a bigger normal one. These do not intrest you and you go back and move to the living room.

You stand in the doorway to the living room, next to you on the left is the bed, currently unmade. To your right is a small basket full of computer magazines. The light you saw earlier is coming from a standing footlight. On the other side of the room on the left you see a computer and a big black office chair. In the middle of the room you see a brown chair that looks comfortable. Between the computer and the bed there is a big and old cd-player and a cd shelf full of not music cd's, but games, programs and other computer related.
To your left behind a wall is the kitchen, small and humble with a stove, sink, fridge and a microwave.

You decide there's nothing to see in this dump, so you leave, as you leave the door closes itself and you are left in the snowy night of Finland.

-the end-

make a plan on expences. how much you will spend on food, how much you will use for bills, and allways keep some money for unexpected ocasions. they will appear...unexpectedly.

congratulations. as for money saving tips, try to buy things with cash not credit or debit cards, it hurts more to give away bills.

Don't become a vegetarian, just kill animals yourself for meat.

Become a vegetarian. If you are a poor student there is no better way to lower your food bill :).
Aside from that, every month make up a listing of all your revenue & expenses and work out if you need to cut anything. The above poster got it wrong - alcohol is the most important!
