Description
A red sun has risen in the east. After the Shanghai Summit of 1960 strengthened Sino-Soviet ties and the eventual communist victory in the cold war, most of Asia has come to be dominated by either Stalinism or Maoism.
The communist government in Afghanistan is more or less stable and has even joined the Warsaw Pact, though it still battles with Mujahideen backed by Pakistan.
Japan, alone after the collapse of the USA, has restored numerous powers to the emperor and retreated into semi-isolation, although it is building relations with the Democratic Alliance.
One of the up and coming Asian powers, India has its own form of moderate socialism but is facing opposition from Hindu nationalists to Maoist hardliners.
Taiwan has become a military dictatorship lead by Chiang Kai-Shek's grandson, it is bolstered by the pacific fleet of the former United States who fled there after the American Collapse.
