Description
Wasn't happy with the original, expanded and more detailed version
ALCORA
Portuguese: Aliança Contra as Rebeliões em Africa
English: Alliance against the rebellions in Africa
A timeline where the Alcora exercise, an alliance between South Africa, Rhodesia and Portugal, managed to survive and expand.
Key points-
Katanga: During the first congo crisis the allies make a more concerted effort to aid the anti-communist state of Katanga, eventually turning it into a puppet state
Seychelles: The coup of 1981 succeeds, the socialist government is overthrown and a sympathetic regime is established
Malawi: While Malawi is an african nationalist state it is also a fiercely anti-communist one and begrudgingly joined ALCORA to prevent communist takeover. Malwai was integral in toppling the socialist government of Zambia and took the northern part of the country
Barotseland: A puppet state carved out of the former Zambian lands
Angola/Mozambique: Portugal realised that total victory was impossible and instead shifted support to anti-communist nationalist parties (FNLA in Angola and RENAMO in Mozambique) in return for some concessions. With aid from the allies these two parties won their respective civil wars.
Cabinda/Sabia: Resettlement areas for Portuguese colonists, slowly becoming majority Portugese
Rhodesia: Mugabe is killed in a second Operation Dingo and deals are made with the moderate African nationalists making the bush war a far more manageable conflict, has a fast growing white population and is attracting lots of european/american immgrants
Botswana: President Khama meets an "unfortunate accident" and political turmoil ensues, the alliance uses the opportunity to sponsor a more malleable candidate
South Africa: The bantustans are reorganised and given more autonomy placating a lot of native concerns
Namib: Already sparsely populated, the natives living in Namibia were relocated to the north of the country and given "independence"

i know this is old asf but ive got two suggestions based on actual plans:
malawi should annex the rumbezia/rombezia region as banda wanted to do, the renamo state should be in the middle of this country; i made this map but just switch renamo to frelimo and give the renamo segment to malawi (i had mixed some stuff up a little bit so ignore the naming)
the namib republic should probably get turned into ovamboland proper just based on the irl proposal for a "groot ovambo"
