It is storming outside

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 18, 2007, 7:47 AM
  • Listening to: Jonathan Coulton - Tom Cruise Crazy
  • Reading: Webcomics. Lot's of 'em
  • Watching: My computer screen.
Now, wasn't that a poetic title "It is storming outside". That, or I'm simply stating my current situation. I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

Ugh.. why did I decide it was a good idea to do a comic centered around a gothic cathedral?  Why!? I'm killing myself drawing in all these blasted details.. it's just...
argh! Oh wait. I do it because Cathedrals are pretty. Yes. That's it.

Now.. uhm.. You know, sometimes I wonder how some people can get -that- many journal entries out. I mean, I'm literally beating my head here trying to think of something interesting to say.

Well, I'm trying out 'soft shading' instead of cellshading, which I usually do. It's pretty difficult, actually.  At least more difficult than people like Kami, Magnus, etc. make it look. If any of you have any tips or pointers, I'm always open to new knowledge.

good point.... but with a storyline that solid and characters that interesting and unique, I think you still have at least an ounce of sanity left that you're hanging onto.

Dude, I find cell-shading one of the most difficult things to do in coloring. How do you make it look so easy?
And I, for one, admire the amount of detail and effort you put into the amazing scenery and backgrounds of your comic. They do not go unnoticed. :)

Really? I always thought cell-shading was the easy (slacker) way of colouring.

Well, I may be just a semi-anonymous fan of the comic, but I still say it's well worth it! Vreakerz is one of the most aesthetically pleasing comics I'm aware of, and of the billions i read a day, that's saying a lot.

Indeed I am. I'll post a screenshot of it in its current state with the next update.
It's far from being finshed, though.
