Sure-Fire Comics #1

A restoration of the front cover of the public domain Sure-Fire Comics #1, published by Ace Magazines in June 1940. Artist currently unknown, sadly, though it may have been Harry Lucey (the artist for the 'Flash' Lightning story in the issue). The restoration is based on an image of a damaged ungraded copy, using images of less damaged copies for reference—this permitted filling in of detail around the edges and repair of damage. Significant remaining apparent "imperfections" were confirmed as existing across multiple copies, and so were left unchanged.
