Analysis:
This cover's composition feels reminiscent of something... Hmmm... What could it be? Well whatever, it looks great on my CRT! References aside, this is a cover idea I've had in mind for a long time, and even with some challenges in adapting the aspect ratio, I think it turned out pretty well. I had only just started a few lines on a lancer when my baby arrived, so this was the first comic "page" I finished after becoming a father!
If I drew it again:
I'm way too tired and crunched for time since becoming a dad to even think of redoing any artwork, but I think the concept is strong and just what I intended... I'd just like to do a little better with the execution, particularly with the character close-ups. They're fine, but perhaps being horribly sleep-deprived when I drew this makes me feel like I could have done it even better.
Favorite Part:
The lancers; the details are nice, and the offset intersecting angles came out pretty well. Just wish I was as happy with how the characters turned out. Still, I'm really happy to have this referential cover done, since it was one I was looking forward to!
