Starting in July 2010, in what was to be a relatively simple attempt at a costume for a masquerade ball, turned out to be a journey over the years through a hobby (more like an obsession!) that encompasses the wonderful world of Special Effects and other fantastical make-up and props.
Self taught, Steven 'Tripped Wire' Dwyer originally started out by buying prosthetic masks in order to jump in at the end and learn about prosthetic application, blending and airbrushing, but as time progressed, he slowly started working his way backwards through the process until he could make everything from scratch, whether it be props, costumes or prosthesis and other advanced make-up techniques.
Steven believes strongly in the 'learn and teach' method of growth, which means that if you learned it out there somewhere (like he did), whether it be books or online, or from someone dropping a small nugget of information at a convention, then it's only fair that you do your best to document and pass the information along to the 'next generation'. Who knows, maybe they will surpass you and show you a trick or two?
