“I shan’t tarry long,” Falstaff said.  “But I must go.  The eclipse is of highest importance to mine own kin.  Far to the north we will celebrate the union of sun and moon, and indulge and pray and dance.  ‘Tis a most holy time, thou must understand.”

“I understand,” Khairo replied.  “But don’t think we won’t miss you.”

Falstaff chuckled and shook his great, crested head.  “And I, you, dear friend.  I shall bring thy regards to the Flame Mother that the lady may know you are dear to her mighty heart.  Give me now leave to leave thee.  We shall meet again after the sun and moon have shared their celestial dance.  Adieu!”

“Be safe,” Khairo said, and Falstaff vanished into the trees, abandoning the temperate forest alight with spring blossoms for the icy chill of the Veiled Rift.

Falstaff is on his way north to party with the other Solars!   Next step, a chat with an Oracle and a search for some new herdmates!  Now watch me scramble to try to qualify for one of those special ethereal foals… xD;;

I still need to iron out exactly how I want to draw Falstaff... I like this piece, but he looks too young for what I had in mind. Don't be surprised if he starts looking chonkier and older in future pieces.
