You should definitely go for the B/W. That way, it'd almost be like reading a manga!!

I like the first one better. Just because it's in color.

While I do PREFER the cell shading, I think it all comes down to what strengths both offer. Cell shading offers a little more emphasis to what needs it, and can really make a piece "pop". While normally i think color's a double edged sword, looking at your works, you don't have to worry about something like that. However, BW and tones are arguably easier, and take less time to complete. All in all, I think it's up to you as an artist as to what directions you take yourself.

the b/w style would enable faster turnaround

I think comics are just better in BW. Color just distracts from what's happening.

I just like the look of screentones better. Lets me focus more on whats happening rather than the color of the background and other shit.

Where do you get your screentones? I can't find a good place for em.

Also, I think the colour would be cool, If you're just hard shading it I don't think the difference in effort is that great.

I actually found them on here. Turns out there's some people on here that make them free for use.

It's kind of weird actually. Screentones take a while for me since I'm not used to using them, so the time put in on either side is almost equal.

I feel pretty much the same, what do you do with them? I've only ever used them as a fill texture and then just erased what I didn't want :P

I'll look around on here then, thank you :3

exactly the same thought as thdj21

But I will never say no to cell shading

Screentones seem like it would be easier take less time to draw and edit than cell shading
