I did something a little different. I put a layer of gesso on wood and got some VERY interesting results. Not only did I get a richer application of colored pencils, but when using OMS it created something akin to an ink/watercolor effect. I had to be mindful how I blended with the OMS. XD I highly recommend using a final varnish or fixative after, since the pigments lay on the surface of the gesso. It won't take much to brush it off, especially if you don't blend with an OMS of some sort.
Materials: Colored pencil on gessoed wood.
