Could almost hear a slide guitar in the distance while struggling to find a composition, would have looked funny seeing a guy going around nodding his head to music that was not there. :)
Did find a good on in the end which made the whole trip worth it.

One of the reasons I love the polarizing filter, granted it is not 100% real in that sense since we can´t see the same with our own eyes, but still it just adds a completely new dimension to an image. :)

I do have a polarizing filter on my camera, and I do prefer looking through water even if there is movement.  I prefer it to the more milky look which seems to be a popular thing to achieve at the moment.  My phone doesn't offer the same facility but still seems to take nice photos.

Most of the special things like a polarizer, long exposure, focus stacking and so on has a place when it comes to photography, for all those times when it does not a mobile phone will do the job easily.
Even if the phone is getting better, due to the sensor size you will never have the same options as with a real camera, such as proper night photography I think is a few years off before even being viable with mobile phones.

One of the rules in landscape is finding an interesting foreground that leads the line to the background.
That said congrats on your image and work!
