I'm not much of a teacher, I'm afraid. Happy to answer any questions. I always recommend sculptors start with learning some anatomy (I learned basics from books), and sculpting in something accessible, like super sculpey. See if you like soft clay first.. Sculpey also has a firm grade that will show you if you like a harder material. Most of sculpting is trial and error and finding your preferences over time. There is no "right" way to make things, in my opinion. Whatever method suits you if the right one for you. Let me know if you have more questions and I can help you out with starting.
